being or pulled to be a sitter

I have had a lot of interesting experiences as a sitter. Some good, and some bad. I was once pulled into a room to watch over a patient who liked to shout when there was no one in the room, and I was just there to keep her cool and relaxed. Just my presence there seemed to calm her, but she wasn't very responsive. After an hour or so of this, a resident physician walks in the room and chews me out (I was reading) about how I was supposed to engage the patient in conversation and was not supposed to just sit there, and walked out with a little smile on her face. Boy, I was mad. I chatted with the patient for about 3 minutes after that and the patient said "I...think...you...had...better...be...quiet". So, for the rest of the day, I was...endless sitter stories...If you like them, I have a zillion more.

Peace always,
