The State is Here!

Thats right, and usually I am happy, but not this time. The folks from the business office all of a sudden come out to help, that's not unusual when the state is here. But now all of a sudden, they are springing new rules and procedures on us while the state is there. For example, usually we put meal trays on the residents table if they are a feeder or if they are asleep. The food is on a hotplate. Today, our DON comes around and yells at us for putting the food in the residents room when they are asleep or not eating. How stupid? The state says the food will get cold. Seems no different to me noting the food truck itself is not heated. Ok sure, whatever. Then they leave myself and another CNA to feed 9 residents. The uneaten food trays got mixed with the trash because feeder trays were not allowed off our 1 cart, until the residents ate. We got yelled at for the confusion. While we were feeding those residents in the dining room or their rooms, the state put a call light on and said no one answered timely. It is just one backward notion after the other. The DON acted like all issues were new and or not happening. Can't these state people tell that if everyone is doing the same thing, that is the routine? The staff makes it like we should know better-how if we have never done any other way? Plus we worked short today. Guess who will be blamed for everything once the state leaves...us CNA's.

I am learning that the stress from people that do not have to do this work is too overwhelming.
