I busted my buns to give good care, so much so, that a couple of the techs I worked with tried to sabotage me in an odd way. They would intimidate a couple of the more oriented residents who were crotchety, but were also sight-impaired. One was totally blind, another had macular degeneration. During the intimidation, they would use my name as their own. The next time I had that team, I would enter the room and tell them who I was (as I always did with sight-impaired patients) you can imagine the reception I got. Both of the patients were ready to take swings at me. One male, one female. The male was pretty strong, so I kept my distance. The female was strong also, but more oriented. I let her squeeze my arm as hard as she wanted to while I calmly explained that I was not there last night. She gradually recognized that my voice was different and saw things for what they were. Really sad and shocking behavior from techs I thought I trusted.
peace always,
