Sometimes, they are an absolute delight, but there are times, when they make you want to scream. Have you ever had the same family members/visitors come in and consistantly make complaints? We have a daughter who comes to see her mother at the nursing home. The daughter is a Nurse. Her mom has alzheimers and is slightly incontinent. When her daughter comes in, she checks her mom. If she see's her mom has been incontinent, she comes into the hallway, demanding the aid come and do her job right. Sometimes she starts crying if her mom is wet, other times, she will demand the aid add her mother to her shower list right away becuase she was incontinent! She won't even walk her mother to the bathroom. She will come out in the hallway or go to the nurses station, and demand to know where her mother's "aid" is because her mom needs to pee now. Her mother walks!
Some nurse huh? It is really sad when you won't even walk your own mother to the bathroom and she calls herself Nurse Almighty (meaning she can do anything better than we can). Especially since she is a ltc nurse, she should know how it is. We all give her mom excellent care and we toilet her very often. I know it's just her guilt talking even more so since she knows exactly how it is. Other times, she is nice, and drops off food for us. We all are reluctant to eat it because she is always so mad at us for no reason. lol
Have any of you had to deal with a nasty & unreasonable visitor? Sometimes the ones that work in healthcare are the worste! Let's hear some stories! | |
