I am hoping someone can offer me some career advice. I just finished a master's program in psychology/neuroscience and have decided to change careers.
I am planning on attending a BSN program and becoming an RN but because of financial reasons, I need to wait a year and a half before starting a program (Fall 2009). I am taking several science classes as pre-requisites this semester but will need to find a job for the following year and thought that working as a CNA would be good opportunity.
What do you think? Would it be bad to work as a CNA for a year and then become an RN?
Also, does anyone know whether taking a course/becoming certified in North Carolina would allow me to work/become certified in Virginia?
Also (last question) what are the pros/cons of taking a class at a community college vs a nursing home or another site?
Thanks so much! I know this is a long post, but I am desperate for advice! | |
