At the end of the day, the bottom line, is that I tell many of our Residents, "you are heros for living here". Think about it, It's like Survival, or exploring Antartica........It's downright "uncharted territory" for many of them. The misconception is that Nursing Homes are for the frail and weak. Relatively speaking, these Residents need to call upon enormous strength, endurance, adapatability, patience and mental fortitude to "get through the day" which sadly is, at this time of their lives, their job/profession! We all bitch, vent, moan and complain about our jobs. The Nursing Home Resident, I venture to say, is no different.
