Hello all! I used to post here a few years back and I loved it! So I'm back!
Anywho... I've been a CNA for 6 years now and I've seen a lot! As most of you have I'm sure. Here's my dilemma... Most of our resident population is dementia with combative behavior... anywhere from alzhiemers to schitzophrenia, to bi-polar. (gotta keep the beds full) Most of the year they are on behavior meds to help them function. But when we enter our window for state survey... the higher ups pull 90 percent of them off thier behavior meds. I know state law says you have to try other alternatives to curb behavior because medication is considered a restraint, but the whole place goes whacky while state is here because no one is on thier meds. Now how much sense does that make? LOL
Anyway... I was just wondering if other facilities do the same thing.
Thanks for listening,
