I have been at my facility as a nurse for 5 years. There were times when I was 1 nurse out of 5 and times I was alone for months on end, 7 days a week and on call 24/7. DON's would float in and float out.. I was one just by default of being the only nurse on many occasions. I just left after we got our 7th DON and 6th administrator in the 5 years I was there. The DON decided on her 2nd week she was going to shadow me so she could better explain what my job was and how to do it. Excuse me? It's only been 6 weeks and I still get phone calls, text messages and e-mails from my CNA's in tears and begging me to come back. I guess she is one of the worst ones yet.
