i have done it, 40 residents, 20 get ups, but with a second aide and we worked as a team. mostly i have had nurses that are willing and able to help. i know, i have been lucky. right now we are working around a 16 yr old and his not being able to work a full shift and a nurse who is not able to help. things are not getting done right and i feel bad every night when i go home. census is down and we staff by census not by accuity. two eve's this week i have had a hall of 20 to myself with the second aide only there from 4-7, we are a two to transfer facility snd 7 of them no way will i transfer them by myself. tryng to stay positive, rumor has it we have hired new aides. a hint on w/c's take it in, soap it up, washing the wheels, come back, bring the next one up, rinse the first, set aside to drip, start another, dry the first, take back, bring another up, do again.
