Newbie Wannabe Needing Advice

Hi everyone! I'm 53 years old...done just about every job in my life and still feel like I haven't made a difference. My daughter worked as a CNA for 3 years and told me this job was for me. I just didn't know if I could do it.

I applied at the hospital in town, but found out they don't have a DON, LPN, RN, Office Clerk or CNA's on all three shifts. They are literally running their hospital/nursing home on a skeleton crew. When I was called for an interview, I expressed my concern about being trained properly because of the short staff. This is not just a paycheck for me. So I told them no...even to the interview.

There is another nursing home in town that I'm thinking of going to that are needing CNA's. With the shortage of CNA's, can a newbie be trained properly? Also, wouldn't morale really be down there?

Any and all advice would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.
