Tami, I can understand were you are comming from. At the last LTC I worked at, we had poor staffing and lazy CNA's. Bad combination! One of our CNA's was a lazy, nasty CNA who never washed her residents and called out at least twice a week (every Monday without exception)! She had a difficult section, but always managed to finish am care by 9 am! Anyone who worked behind her dreaded it. So many of us complained about her to the DON. Guess what, she was promoted to a PT Aide (ambulating residents) and received a $2 raise! To top it off, she still only did half her work, she managed to show up on mondays though. Some people are just lucky I guess. Some of my co workers got fed up with the favortism and left.
People like her, make good workers like ourselves look bad. We end up getting in trouble for things other people neglected to do. And yes, the residents suffer as a result. |
