I am sorry too, but you are correct. Administration tries to act like they care about you, when they really couldn't give a rats #$%$ how you feel. They keep getting their wages and hour long breaks because they short change us CNA's. We do everything, could they walk a day in our shoes? Standing and hands on work for 8 hours straight-sometimes without a lunch break! They have no idea what it is to clean poop and pee of all kinds all day. They don't know how it feels to be blamed for everything. Bed sores, falls, change in residents health its always "Where was the CNA?" We were trying to do all this for another resident when all this happened. Thats why! Day shift has it the worste, and many of us work under very poor circumstances. It's so sad, because they really guilt trip you, then call a meeting for the staff to "inservice" CNA's on Resident Care. The nurses really should speak up on our behalf and say "They need help!" It is a Nation Wide epidemic. Meanwhile your facility is (mine at least) keeps admiting the people who need the most care, because it's more money for them. More people are diagnosed with some kind of mental disfunction (such as azhiemers) and incontinent. It is a written fact that there are a record number of these kind of patients these days. They require more care than the state says. Yet we are still staffed very poorly. I just don't get it. One person cannot prevent a tragedy from happening to all 8-30 people! When administration realizes this, everyone will be better taken care of!
