OOps I misread--- I thought you'd written 1993 vs. 2003. You should be able to "challenge" most state class rules and simply take a test to get re-certified.
It's true that nursing homes that get their funding pulled via a poor survey will not be able to hold CNA classes; it's sad that those caught up in the middle of it do get screwed over though! In fact it's not right- states should have a system in place that allows students to continue their classes so long as the TEACHER is properly credentialed.
