      NO!

      Heavy patients/residents DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT to be lifted. You will not find this anywhere...rights only go so far and not only is this dangerous, it's illegal. Heavy residents require special care and equipment, but human bodies lifting them is not considered equipment.

      I would absolutely refuse to lift such a heavy person; and I would not work for a facility that did not back me up 100% on this.
