8/7/02. - Antonio starts the last lesson, the business at hand. Antonio tells him all the amounts are in dollars, as is usual with foreign negotiations. JR tells Fed $30, Federico reminds him that Janet Martin usually pays $40 (or something like that). Federico tells JR that he and Maria are novios again, tells JR that he will pay Maria's passage, etc. JR tells him no way, the company will pay all. Antonio tells Pablo what price to pay, 60% for? and 40% on the open market. Antonio tells Pablo to insist on the 20% up front. Antonio tells Pablo he is not a multi-millionaire. He is risking all on this venture. If it fails, he is bankrupt. Cindy thinks Pablo is hiding something from her, is still seeing that woman. Antonio buys clothes for Pablo. Ligia offers to show Pablo the flowers. Antonio tells ? that the next day the people must be convinced that Pablo is the owner. Ligia asks Pablo if he has a novia, offers to provide flowers for the wedding, as she does for all the workers. Cindy discovers that Herminio is still working in that business. When Antonio discovers that Pablo is going to marry, he advises against it, marriage is forever and he still loves Maria. Pablo tells him he's the wrong person to give advice, for obvious reasons. Antonio explains that he adores Ligia, that she is the perfect woman for him; the other women are, well, just other women..Don Alvaro tells Pablo that he agrees, but she threatened suicide. Pablo tells him that right now his entire life is a lie. Pablo tries on his wedding clothes. Federico and Maria go to the restaurant. Federico has to leave for a moment; Pablo enters and greets Maria.
8/8/02 - Antonio and Bernardo listen to the dinner conversation. It is tense, especially when Federico asks Pablo about his personal life. Pablo admits he has a novia and will be marrying soon. When asked her name, Pablo gives the name of Bernardo's wife (Cecilia) guessing that "Cindy" would sound too common (this pleased Antonio). Maria responds that she and Federico will also marry in 2 months. When Federico says there will be no advance payment, Pablo walks out, to the disgust of Bernardo. However, when he returns to Antonio, Antonio is not as upset as Bernardo. He says that Federico must also be desperate, to call him the next morning and agree to waive the advance payment. Meanwhile Federico confronts Maria; he could tell from their behavior that he was the man she met in Cartagena. She, finally, admits it. Federico acts upset, wants to know if they are really going to marry, etc., but calms down. He tells her, however, that if he can't have her, Pablo won't. Margarita undresses; Don Roque can't believe what he sees. Don Roque offers to help Margarita in exchange for being her friend.

09-10-2000 Antonio le pide a Pablo que haga todo lo posible para que Ligia no se entere que los ayudó con la venta de las flores. Federico le pregunta a María si el viaje es para volver a verse con el hombre que conoció en Cartagena. Antonio le da instrucciones a Susy para que Pablo parezca el dueño de la empresa y puedan realizar el negocio de las flores. 10-10-2000 Rodolfo le dice a Federico que le parece una falta de respeto que María lo ponga a hacer negocios con su rival. Federico le promete a Ferney llevarlo a Colombia, si le da la información que necesita sobre Pablo Guerrero. María le dice a Silvana que si Pablo le va a vender las flores es porque le interesa realizar el negocio y no porque todavía siga interesado en ella. 11-10-2000 Wilson queda desilusionado cuando va a buscar trabajo porque sólo le ofrecen pagarle el mínimo. Federico le propone a José Ramón que impida que María haga el viaje. Janeth se alegra cuando José Ramón le cuenta que las flores que consiguió para San Valentín son colombianas. Cindy le reclama a Pablo porque ahora vive más ocupado que el presidente de la república. 12-10-2000 Rafael le dice a Wilson que tiene que respetar sus normas si quiere seguir viviendo en la casa. Antonio y Berni le dan lecciones a Pablo para que no vaya a cometer errores con María. Jenny le pide a Cindy que no invite a Johana al matrimonio. María le dice a Federico que ya decidió ir a Colombia y no va a cambiar de parecer. 13-10-2000 Pablo le confiesa a Cindy que hizo el amor con la mujer que conoció en Cartagena. El escolta consigue que Ligia le explique más cosas acerca del invernadero. María le dice a Silvana que no quiere hacer sentir mal a Pablo con la presencia de Federico. Ligia le ofrece a Pablo el ramo de novia y los arreglos de la iglesia para el día de su matrimonio.
17-10-2000 Alvaro recoge a María y a Ferney en el aeropuerto. Federico intenta convencer a María de no verse con Pablo. Antonio y Bernardo se sorprenden al ver a Pablo vestido de ejecutivo. Pablo y María se encuentran en un costoso restaurante. Federico se las ingenia para que Pablo se entere que es el novio de María. Cindy le dice a Cristian que averiguará quien es la mujer que tiene a Pablo tan extraño. 18-10-2000 Antonio hace recapacitar a Pablo quien está a punto de renunciar al negocio. Federico le dice a María que algo en Pablo lo hace desconfiar. María y Pablo no pueden negar ante Federico que entre ellos hubo algo. En la discoteca Cindy y Cristian se acercan más de lo que las reglas lo permiten. Pablo le cuenta a María y a Federico que se casa en menos de un mes. 19-10-2000 Federico intenta sacar provecho del negocio, pero Pablo desiste de hacer cualquier contrato con ellos. Federico le dice a María que sabe que Pablo fue el hombre que conoció en Cartagena. Pablo se niega a seguir ayudando a Antonio. Federico intenta convencer a María de acostarse con él. Pablo le reclama a Jenny por acolitarle los celos a Cindy. 20-10-2000 Cristian le advierte a Jenny que Pablo no se puede enterar que salió con Cindy. Federico llama a Pablo y le propone conocer los cultivos antes de tomar una decisión definitiva. Antonio y Bernardo se inventan algo grave para sacar a Ligia del cultivo. Cindy espera a Susy a la salida de la oficina.
23-10-2000 Cindy y Susy pasan de las palabras a los hechos. Un evento en la carretera obliga a Pablo a mostrar su verdadera naturaleza, dejando muy mal parado a Federico. Ligia se preocupa por el supuesto infarto de Antonio. María logra hablar a solas con Pablo y le recrimina por las mentiras que le dijo para poder llevársela a la cama.
24-10-2000 Federico accede a las exigencias económicas de Pablo. María y Pablo acuerdan una cita. El administrador del cultivo llega de sorpresa a la finca. Bernardo trata de impedir que Federico se entere de la verdad pero… El Cura del barrio le dice a Cindy que se niega a casarla con Herminio hasta que él muestre mayor interés. 25-10-2000 Alvarito aconseja a Pablo cumplirle la cita a María y contarle toda la verdad sobre su origen. Federico le encarga a Rodolfo averiguar quien es la familia de Pablo. Antonio no puede creer lo que Pablo le cuenta sobre los resultados de la negociación. Federico descubre a María vistiéndose para verse con Pablo y le dice que esa noche le presentará a sus papás. Ligia descubre lo fuera de control que está su hijo. 26-10-2000 Federico logra esquivar todas las excusas de María para no salir con él. Nestor debe intervenir. Antonio y Ligia se enfrentan por culpa de Alejo. Nestor trata de convencer a Alejandro de que no maneje, pero el joven se niega y las consecuencias no se hacen esperar. Alejo y sus amigos rinden declaración y acusan a Nestor del accidente. Por fin Ligia y Antonio logran tomar una decisión sobre Alejo.
30-10-2000 Federico logra esquivar todas las excusas de María para no salir con él. Mientras tanto Pablo se ve en apuros para eludir al sacerdote que los casará. Alejo le pone el ojo a una joven que le gusta en una discoteca, se trata de María. El sacerdote le da la oportunidad a Pablo de romper el compromiso con Cindy. Federico se encuentra con una conocida que le habla de su familia. 31-10-2000 Federico insulta a María cuando la descubre tratando de quitarse de encima a Alejandro. Nestor debe intervenir. Antonio y Ligia se enfrentan por culpa de Alejo. Nestor trata de convencer a Alejandro de que no maneje, pero el joven se niega y las consecuencias no se hacen esperar. Alejo cae en manos de sus compañeros de celda. Nestor le cuenta a Alejo todo sobre María Alcalá. Federico encuentra una prueba de que María estuvo en casa de Pablo. María logra escuchar la fuerte discusión entre los dos hombres. Cristian le recuerda a Cindy el beso que se dieron en la discoteca. María le pide a Pablo una última vez. 03-11-2000 Antonio intenta convencer a Ligia de no irse a la casa. Cristian le entrega a Tulia dinero para pagarle a Rafael. Al no encontrar a María en el hotel, Federico decide volver a casa de Pablo. María vive toda una aventura cuando Pablo la hace "untarse" de pueblo. Cindy planea la manera de obtener la dirección de Antonio e ir a buscar a Pablo. Federico llega a casa de Antonio.
07-11-2000 Federico conoce al padre de Pablo y le da las quejas sobre el comportamiento de su hijo con María. Pablo le pide consejo a Josué sobre si contarle o no la verdad a María. Cindy interroga a Antonio sobre Pablo. Alejo debe pasar la noche con frío y hambre en una celda. Pablo y María se confiesan sobre su sexualidad. 08-11-2000 Pablo rechaza a María, quien se siente humillada. Federico le cuenta a Rodolfo sobre el comportamiento de María. Cristian intenta acercarse nuevamente a Cindy. Tulia le aconseja a Cindy aplazar el matrimonio. Antonio le cuenta a Pablo sobre la visita de Federico y Cindy.
USA 8/13/02 - Maria makes excuses for not going out with Federico. Ligia tells her son Alejandro she is worried about him. She asks him what he plans to do; he says why work with such an inheritance. Pablo and Cindy attend another pre-nuptial class in which the priest tells them some of the realities of married life: problems, boredom, wrinkles, weight, etc. Just as Maria leaves her hotel room, she bumps into Federico so she has to make an excuse. Federico tells her that his parent left on an unexpected trip. The priest tells Pablo and Cindy they must talk, now. Pablo, obviously, wants to leave. Nestor accompanies Alejandro to the disco, must refuse an invitation to dance. He sees Federico and Maria dancing there. The priest asks Pablo if he wants to marry; Pablo says yes. The priest guesses there is another woman. Cindy admits that Pablo was a fool, has repented. The priest says that Cindy is wrong, it is proof that he isn't ready for marriage. Pablo is about to tell the priest the truth when he is called away and Cindy reminds him that she has devoted 6 years of her life to him. Pablo assures the priest of his commitment. An old girlfriend of Federico greets him. Alejandro gets drunk. Federico dances with the old friend and Alejandro introduces himself to Maria. Antonio calls Pablo and makes arrangements. Antonio wishes him luck and thanks him for what he is doing. Ligia discovers that Alejandro talk her car. Federico's friend agrees to keep his secret. Federico gets angry with Maria when he returns to the table and finds Alejandro there. A fight starts. Nestor demands the keys from the drunk Alejandro. Ligia blames Antonio for their son's defects. She even questions his business judgment. Alejandro drives with Nestor next to him and his friends in the back seat. They can't convince him to stop. Pablo calls Maria's hotel room but nobody answers. Federico tells Maria he is tired of her flirting, first with Pablo then the guy at the disco. Alejandro has an accident; the car is half destroyed but all are ok. Nestor tells Alejandro he will tell the police he was driving, not for him but for his parents. When the police ask who was driving, Nestor and Alejandro accuse each other. The police tell them they will all be tested for alcohol. Alejandro tells the police that he is the son of Antonio Santamaria. The police don't care.
8/14/02 - Alejandro calls his mother, tells her he is at the police station,that Nestor was driving. Alejandro and all his friends except the girl support Alejandro. Bernardo gives Pablo instructions about the contract, removes pictures of Antonio and his family from the house. Antonio and his wife don't believe their son and leave him at the station. Federico's father appears. Alejandro joins Nestor in the cell. Bernardo shows Pablo the house. Maria arrives alone and he shows her the house. Federico tells his father he didn't steal the 200,000; he invested it, in himself, in an apartment, cars, club. Soon he will be part of the jet set, will be marrying the daughter of a millionaire and he will have the money to save his family. Federico tells his father the woman is Maria. Federico's father tells him he doesn't want JR's money, wants the money that Federico stole. His father tells him that they live decently. Maria Alcala is the only child of JR. Maria tells Pablo she can't believe the house is his, it is too formal; he seems much more informal. The house seems like a family house not that of a sole man. He tells her that his family lived there until two months ago when they went abroad. Then he tells her they have to talk about themselves. Nestor is freed; The guard says the know that Alejandro was driving. Pablo swears to Maria that he didn't leave because he had gotten what he wanted. Pablo swears that all his feelings were honest. Pablo tells Maria that he read of her engagement in the paper. Maria said that Federico had a welcome home party, there were photographers, she couldn't do anything. That night she told him it was over. Pablo doesn't believe her. Maria says that Pablo forgot her quickly but Federico stayed by her, in spite of her rejection, so she gave him a second chance. Maria tells him that he never fought for her. Pablo tells Maria that he broke up with Cecilia, that he resumed the relationship because she attempted suicide. Maria can't believe he would let her manipulate him that way. He tells her that he is going to marry. Maria asks Pablo why he says their's can never be. Then the phone rings and it is Nestor. Nestor tells Pablo he is prepared to resign. He also tells Pablo that he saw Maria and Federico, very loving, the night before. Pablo tells Maria he knows she didn't meet her in-laws the night before, was in a bar with her novio. Maria admits it is true. She tells him that she was supposed to meet Federico's parents but they had gone away, didn't know the two of them were coming. Maria tells Pablo she invented the whole business deal so she would be able to talk to him, tells him how Federico needed flowers and she thought of him. Maria tells him that her father knows nothing, thinks the flowers come from Federico's contacts. Maria tells him that Federico didn't know Pablo was the man from Cartagena until the dinner. Pablo repeats that he is going to marry because he promised. He admits he was with his novia, but in the same situation as Maria: couldn't escape.
8/15/02 - Pablo and Maria declare their love, kiss, an earring or something falls to the floor. Federico arrives and Maria hides. Federico and Pablo sign the contract, FOB Miami (Pablo doesn't understand). Pablo shows Federico the house, when Federico says that picture by Chagall is awful, Pablo tells him to ask Chagall. Then Federico sees what Maria dropped and Pablo admits she was there to say goodbye. Federico tells him there is something strange about him. When Pablo asks him how he can do business with somebody he doesn't trust, Federico says that in business one must take risks. Then he threatens Pablo, says he knows he was the man Maria met in Cartagena. Maria hears it all. Federico leaves. Maria tells Pablo he had no right to threaten him. Pablo answers that it shows he is willing to fight for her, but he is still going to marry in two weeks. This is the last time they will see each other. Back home, Cindy tells Cristian she doesn't remember what happened the night before, reminds him that she is going to marry his brother. She tells him she would never fall in love with him. Cristian threatens to tell Pablo that the two of them were together. Cindy tells him to do it. In jail, Nestor returns to the cell to protect Alejandro, gets back his shoes and jacket, tells him about Maria (not sure why). Alvaro drives Pablo and Maria. Pablo stops the car, tells Alvaro to take the day off. He and Maria go off together. When Federico discovers that Maria gave Ferné the morning off and isn't in the hotel, he guesses that she was hiding in Pablo's house and calls a taxi to go back there, at the same time that Antonio and his wife are on their way home. Cindy asks Jenny if the Gringos that Pablo is supposed to be guarding could be women. Cindy remembers that the girl in Cartagena was from the U.S. She decides to get the address of Pablo's boss from Alvaro.
8/16/02 - Federico arrives at Antonio's house. Antonio introduces himself as Pablo's father. Federico tells him the business is concluded, but he has a personal matter to discuss with him. Federico explains about his novia Maria. Antonio acts ashamed for his son. Federico tells Antonio that Pablo is strange. Cindy and Jenny arrive at the house just as Federico and Ferné leave. Ferné thinks she is pretty. Antonio tells Cindy that Herminio is probably still with the gringos at the airport, admits there is a woman among them. He tells Cindy he doesn't know the Cartagena woman's name, but knows she has a novio and is about to marry. Pablo and Maria play a game with rocks on the hilltop against two of the men who live there. Later, Pablo tells Josue he wants to tell Maria the truth, but Josue asks him to wait 10 days, until the business deal is concluded. They are all dependent on its success for their livelihood. Maria tells Pablo to have his novia see a psychiatrist or the priest who conducts the marriage classes. She tells him that she can't marry Federico because of the way she feels about him. Pablo and Maria spend an evening by the fire. She tells him that she and Federico are not sharing a room. He admits he had sex with his novia before Cartagena but not since Cartagena. But as he kisses her, he recalls their conversation in bed in Cartagena when she told him she couldn't love Ferné. He pulls away from her. She tells him she is tired of begging him to love her. She runs away and he follows. Pablo tells her there are things in his life that don't permit him to be with her, he'll tell her the whole truth in 15 days. He swears to her that he loves her and would do anything for her. She tells him she loves him too. They kiss and make love in the woods. Federico tells Rodolfo that Pablo's father confirmed he is going to marry and Maria has to marry him. Cristian kisses Cindy, tries to convince her she is wasting her time with Herminio.. Cindy tells Dona Tulia that she is sure Herminio is still seeing la vieja because she has money, buys him fine clothes. Tulia tells him that if this is true, she shouldn't marry him. But Cindy tells her she will marry Pablo pase lo que pase.

En la capitulo comienza cuando Maria y Pablo aceptan el reto del campesino y se ponen a jugar ''tejo" tomando cerveza donde la mayoria de los lanzamientos van a parar contra las materas.
Mientras tanto en la mansion de los Santamaria Ligia anda con dolor de cabeza debido a que se siente muy mal por tener el hijo (Alejandro) en la carcel. De repente suena el timbre de la puerta y es Antonio quien recibe la visita de Federico que llega preguntando por Pablo. Ligia se durme.
Antonio se presenta como el papa de Pablo y de inmediato Federico comienza a darle quejas sobre el comportamiento de su hijos y las ganas que tiene Pablo de volarle la novia. "El sen~or Guerrero" defiende a su "hijo" confirmandole a Federico que Pablo se va a casar en tres semanas y que es imposible de que este enamorado de otra mujer.
Federico se estran~a el por que Pablo tiene un padre tan normal y el hijo da la impresion de no saber donde esta parado. Antonio le responde que la razon es que Pablo vivio mucho tiempo en la India y que alla como que le lavaron el cerebro (esa escena estuvo comica).
Cuando se va Federico llega Cindy con su ordinariez caracteristica preguntando por Herminio. Ante la negativa de Antonio de hacerla pasar ella empieza con un riguroso interrogatorio sobre lo que hizo Pablo en Cartagena con quien estuvo y demanda saber el nombre de la "ricachona" que le esta quitando a su Herminio para ir y darle una "alineadita".
Al final Cindy logra comprometer a Antonio para que asista a su boda en compania de su esposa y de paso que le regalen o una nevera o un equipo de sonido pues son cosas que les hacen falta. Antonio le prometio la nevera como regalo de matrimonio.
Mientras tanto Maria y Pablo ya llegaron a los cultivos y Josue se ofrece a abrirles la caban~a y prenderles la chimenea.
Maria y Pablo empiezan a besarse apasionadamente cuando llega a la mente del escolta un recuerdo de algo que dijo Maria en Cartagena sobre Ferney que ella no podria enamorarse de alguien con un nombre asi. Pablo la aparte de sus brazos y Maria se siente rechazada y humillada y sale corriendo de la caban~a pero Pablo la persigue y la alcanza. Maria con lagrimas en los ojos le recrimina a Pablo del porque de su inseguridad que si alcaso era homosexual o casado le pregunto ella. Pablo dijo que ni marica nio casado y que solo le pide a Maria que le de 15 dias para contarle toda la verdad. Ella le pregunta que si la ama y el le responde que si entonces se besan y se van quitando la ropa y hacen el amor al aire libre en medio de un jardin de rosas. (Todo lo anterior paso teniendo como fondo musical una cancion bellisima.)
Luego entran a la caban~a y siguen en el idilio. Maria compromete a pablo para que la visite y le lleve una rosa el dia de San Valentin a Miami o sino ella viajara a Bogota para confirmar por ella misma que el no se casara con "Cecilita".
Por otra parte Federico desesperado en el hotel esperando a Maria llama y le cuenta a Rodolfo sobre el comportamiento de su novia. Cristian intenta acercarse nuevamente a Cindy y logra besarla a la fuerza otra vez mientras esta como una fiera sigue esperando a Herminio.
En la ultima escena del capitulo del viernes Tulia le aconseja a Cindy aplazar el matrimonio.

A Cristián le proponen ganar más dinero robando carros. Federico le dice a José Ramón que María se escapo con Pablo todo un día. María pone al tanto de su viaje a Colombia a Silvana. Federico se las ingenia para lograr que José Ramón no lo culpe por las pérdidas del negocio. Antonio le dice a Pablo que no se ilusione con que María lo acepte cuando sepa quién es en realidad.
María se enfrenta a José Ramón quien termina suavizando la situación cuando se entera de la situación económica de Pablo. Antonio le hace un análisis social a Pablo de su relación con María. Wilson mintiendo,le dice a su familia que le dieron la visa. Ligia intenta acercarse a Alejo pero éste la rechaza y le cuenta que Antonio está pensando en pagarle una carrera a Pablo. Wilson le cuenta a Pablo la verdad y le propone que se vayan juntos. Pablo le cuenta a Nestor que tendrá que seguir con Alejo. Federico le propone a Rodolfo hacer un desfalco a la empresa.
Genaro le explica a Wilson como será el viaje para ingresar ilegalmente a Estados Unidos. Antonio le explica a Ligia porque quiere ayudar a Pablo con los estudios. Rodolfo le cuenta a Federico que quien le vendió en realidad las flores fue Antonio Santamaría. Antonio le cuenta a Bernardo que Alejo está interesado en María. Nestor le dice a Pablo que está pensando en renunciar. Rodolfo le plantea a Federico como contarle a José Ramón que fue engañado por Santamaría. Pablo empieza a averiguar sobre su universidad. José Ramón llama a Antonio para restregarle que logró dejarlo en la ruina. Rafael le pregunta a Wilson si está decidido a irse de Colombia. Federico le confiesa a José Ramón que las flores se las compró a Pablo. Wilson le entrega a Cristián el dinero de los repuestos. Ligia nota algo raro en el cultivo.
Antonio cuadra una cita con Sofía. Ligia decide ir en busca de Antonio. Ligia le pide a Efraín que la ayude a averiguar en qué anda Antonio. Pablo llama a María y le pide que viaje a Colombia. Antonio se ve obligado a contarle a Ligia parte de la verdad de la venta de las flores para San Valentín. Pablo le cuenta a su madre todo sobre María. Cuando Antonio piensa que no le podrá cumplir la cita a Sofía, Ligia le da la excusa perfecta para asistir. 22-11-2000 Alejo le confiesa a Ligia que está interesado en María Alcalá. Sofía y Antonio deciden prolongar su cena. Ligia descubre que Antonio no está en la casa y llama al celular de Sofía. Ana acusa a José Ramón de no permitir que María tome sus propias decisiones. Ligia le dice a Antonio que hablará con José Ramón
USA 8/19-23/02 - 8/19/02 - After making love, Maria tells Pablo she feels guilty; if not for her, he would be married to his novia. He remembers his past, tells her that he knew before he met her that it was a mistake to marry his novia. Now he knows what real love is. Maria tells him her father will accept him when he knows about the flowers. Pablo returns to Antonio's house and returns the car, tells him to call fhe police for his abuse of trust. Antonio asks if he signed the paper; one thing he didn't understand but accepted as instructed. He doesn't care about the car or the house. Pablo assures Antonio that Maria is innocent, didn't try to destroy his business. Antonio tells Pablo that Federico came to the house and he introduced himself as Pablo's father. Pablo hopes that Fedrerico and Maria don't exchange information, because he told her that his father had died (which is true). Antonio remembered to say that Pablo's novia was named Cecilia. Then Antonio tells him that Cindy was here to ask if he was with the same woman as in Cartagena. Antonio tells Pablo to lie, women don't want to hear the truth. Pablo returns the keys, says goodbye. The next day he starts his training for guard the President. Antonio can't believe he would leave him, they make a good team, asks him to come to the office the next day.
Maria knocks on Federico's door at 2:;00am. They go to her room Maria admits she was with Pablo. She admits that she has fallen in love with him, tried to forget him but couldn't. He asks her why she reconciled with him after Cartagena: because Pablo didn't write, call, etc.? She tells him that Pablo isn't going to marry and, when he asks, tells him it would be unjust to marry him. Federico tells her he can see now that she used him to make Pablo jealous, to get near to him. She tells him he is right but one can't control one's feelings. He tells her he has always known what he wanted; she is acting like a child. She is surprised that he isn't angry with her. He tells her he hopes that she will be happy, although he doubts it because Pablo doesn't know what he wants. Then he sees grass in her hair, accuses her of sleeping with Pablo. Federico leaves her room. Back in his, he breaks a golf club accidentally.
Cindy follows Pablo in her car, pins him against a wall. She accuses him of being with la vieja, accuses him of being with a rich woman who can buy him clothes, change him, etc. Pablo denies it. He tells her that she has gone to the U.S. When he calls Cindy Cecilia, she guesses that is the woman's name. She tells him a rich woman couldn't fall in love with him, is just playing with him.She accuses him of planning to get money from her to pay his mother's debts. Pablo tells Cindy he doesn't want to marry her. She doesn't believe him. She cries. She drives away. The next morning in the garage, Cindy flirts with him, reminds him they are to arrange the apartment later in the day, says she doesn't remember what they talked about the previous night.
Mauricio talks with Ligia, tells her that Pablo's behavior was gross. Antonio and Pablo pick up Alejandro and Nestor. Antonio thanks Nestor for caring for his son, gives him a day off. Nestor thanks him but says no; he has work to do. Antonio insists, tells Nestor to go eat. Nestor asks Pablo to get him changed to a different job; he can't stay being with Alejandro one more day.
Federico asks Maria what they are going to tell her father. She says not to worry, she is going to tell her father the truth.
Pablo apologizes to Susy for Cindi's calls and insults.
Wilson tells Cindy he wants to go to Miami where you don't have to know English; everybody speaks Spanish.

USA 8/20/02 - Cindy tells Cristian that Pablo wasn't with a woman, was working. He doesn't believe her.
Wilson agrees to do one more job only for Cristian because he has other plans.
Bernardo is upset because Pablo accepted FOB terms which means they must pay all the shipping. Pablo explains that he did as he was told, didn't question what he didn't understand. Antonio chastises Bernardo, reminds him that they owe the sale to Pablo. Later, Pablo says goodbye to Antonio who apologizes for Bernardo. Antonio tries to convince Pablo to stay, offers him money and an education, tells him he can work during the day and study at night. And when he no longer needs a guard, Pablo can be his assistant. Alejandro overhears, enters the room and asks what he will do. Pablo leaves. Antonio accuses Alejo of being jealous.
Wilson dresses up in a suit. His father asks him about a change in providers. He gives some kind of excuse. Then he tells his father he wants to go to America and asks his father to sign a document proving he has a stable job. His father tells him the gringos won't believe he earned 1 million pesos a year.
Antonio assigns Alejo responsibility for the internet, for all the email, gives him a list. He also wants him to follow everything having to do with the growth, sale and movement of flowers. Alejo asks him if he doesn't need somebody who can travel, make contacts. Antonio says no. Alejo tells his father he wants to meet a Maria Alcala. Antonio tells him that she is going to marry. But Alejo tells him that's no problem, he can win her. Then Antonio tells him that she is the daughter of a man who has made his life a misery. Alejo understands, Romeo and Juliet. Alejo says he doesn't understand his father's problems, but they aren't his. He wants to meet this woman.
Jenny puts on lipstick, pulls up her skirt when she sees Wilson coming by. He comments that her skirt is awfully short, has an appointment. Wilson waits in line to apply for a visa, gets advice and information from another guy in line who has tried several times to get a visa. He tells Alejo he has to prove he comes from a good family, has money, possessions, things to return home for. He admits he wants to go to stay there and will try to cross the frontier illegally if he can't get a visa.
Maria returns home to her father, says that Federico went home. JR can't believe how she could sell the flowers for such a price. After her father leaves, Maria's mother asks her if she saw the other guy, what happened.
Pablo practices on the firing range then talks with his Colonel. Pablo tells him that helping Antonio with his business was a way of protecting his business, from a financial threat than from a physical threat. They talk about his relationship with Antonio and the security of the President. Pablo tells him he would like to continue working for Antonio but will do what his Colonel wants. Pablo tells him that he has to take Nestor off Alejandro. Pablo promises his Colonel that he is going to fight for Maria but is also going to tell her the truth. The Colonel tells him he has a lot of experience with such relationships and the bodyguard is always hurt. But he agrees to let Pablo keep working for Antonio.
Cristian talks with his business partner. Somebody was killed and they need a replacement. It has something to do with stealing cars.
Wilson answers questions: he wants to visit the U.S. for vacation, for only 8-10 days. When asked how he can pay for the transportation given his low salary, he explains that his father will help him, says he will be traveling alone, doesn't have any family in the U.S. His visa is refused.
Cristian asks Cindy where Wilson is. She tells him he is getting a visa. He gives her a present. After he leaves, she opens it up: a car emblem.
JR asks his secretary if the flowers have arrived, asks Federico about the trip. Federico says everything was fine until Maria went off with este tipo.

8/21/02 - Federico tells JR he may have lost Maria because of his obligation to the business. Maria tells her friend that she knows exactly who Pablo is, is tan simple, in spite of his wealth. She hopes that Pablo can arrange things with his novia, tells her friend they made love again and it was better than the first time. JR asks Federico if he knows anything of Santamaria who should have been ruined. Federico offers to find out, but JR tells him it won't be necessary.
Pablo returns to Antonio the clothes he bought for the business. Antonio tells him to keep the clothes. Pablo tells Antonio he will tell Maria the truth in 15 days, once the business deal is concluded. Antonio warns Pablo that when he tells Maria the truth, she will drop him, is sure that a relationship between a poor man and a rich woman won't work. Antonio tells him that novelas should continue after the marriage to show what really happens with such relationships. Antonio reminds Pablo how he changed his name from Herminio, as if he had the right. Antonio assures him that if Maria had met him as Herminio, she wouldn't have looked at him twice (Pablo recalls being in bed with Maira and her telling him she couldn't love somebody called Ferné). Antonio tries to explain to Pablo how the gente think. Antonio tells Pablo that most of the people who advance never look back, don't want to look back. Antonio tells him that JR will be his worst enemy when he learns the truth, tells him that JR still believes he can buy class with money and he can't. Pablo tells Antonio he can't tell JR the truth. Pablo begs him for the chance to tell Maria himself, not let her learn the truth from her father. Antonio asks Pablo what they can share: car, house, friends? Pablo tells Antonio he was going to accept his offer but has changed his mind. Antonio tells him he should do it for himself, not for Maria. Pablo says if he accepts, he insists on paying him back, bit by bit. Antonio tells him he is doing it because of his help in the business. Pablo tells him he did that as a favor, expected nothing in return.
JR refuses to receive that guy in his house. Maria guarantees her father that Pablo is perfect. Maria's mother tells her that she has hurt Federico. Maria says she hasn't met his family yet because his parents are in Europe, his house is spectacular, full of paintings. She saw his finca, una belleza. JR thinks if it is that good, they must consider the business aspects. Ana can't believe JR"s change of heart. JR says if he is rich, comes of a good family, well.....He tells Maria she can invite Pablo to the house.
Wilson tells the guy in line that he was rejected, will wait a year. The guy tells him that's silly, he has a plan. Wilson goes home. He has a drink with Pablo.Wilson tells him he was rejected because his father refused to sign the paper confirming his job. Pablo tries to talk him out of crossing the border illegally. Wilson talks again to the guy from the visa line.
Antonio's wife Ligia talks to her son who complains about his first day of work, as a "secretary", wants something different, something with international contacts. He tells his mother that his father is going to pay for Pablo's education.
Herminio tells Nestor the Colonel won't let him swap charges, he has to stick with Alejandro.
Rodolfo tries to talk business to Federico who is in a yoga position. Federico tells him he has lost Maria, what is he going to do? Federico has an idea: embezzle some money between now and the end of the 15 days. He also asks Rodolfo to find out what is going on with Antonio Santamaria. Rodolfo calls Mauricio and asks if he has any flowers for sale; when Mauricio says no, Rodolfo asks him to whom he sold the flowers. Mauricio tells him it was Caribbean Flowers.

8/22/02 - Janet Martin tells JR the flowers were as good as or better than those she would have gotten from Santamarina. JR asks her to pay a bit more, given the short time frame she gave him to provide the flowers. She tells him she is crazy. JR asks her if she has spoken with Santamarina. She says no. JR tells her he is going to gather the cultivators to propose again that they sell to him because Santamarina won't be able to pay them.
Ligia asks Antonio why he is helping his bodyguard, doesn't understand. Antonio asks her why he shouldn't, Pablo had done good work and is a young man who wants to progress. Then she tells him that his son is hurt that he should pay so much attention to a mere ascolta while ignoring him. She, following her son's desires, asks him if he couldn't give Alejandro more intersting work.
Wilson and the other guy make plans for crossing the frontier.
Rodolfo tells Federico he didn't buy Pablo's flowers but Antonio's. Rodolfo tells him that Pablo is either a friend of Antonio's or works for him. Federico realizes that the man who introduced himself as Pablo's father must have been Antonio. He is also convinced that Maria knew; Rodolfo disagrees.

JR Alcala calls Santamarina on the speaker phone, with Federico in the room, and teases him about all the money he must have lost. Antonio goes along with him, pretends to be furious at what he did for him. JR tells Antonio that this was just the first step, next he will buy the land and, finally, he will take his business. Federico has to praise JR after he hangs up. Bernardo and Atnonio laugh.
JR asks Federico to find out how many flowers Santamarina sold, to whom and for how much. He also asks him to investigate Pablo Guerrero because he still wants Maria to marry him (Federico). Federico tells JR that Pablo is a major seller of flowers, lives in a huge house, etc., but is very strange, parece un nuevo rico. That insults JR (who is also a nuevo rico). Federico tells JR he is telling him just what Maria told him. Then Federico admits that he has met Pablo but can't say more. He is still in love with Maria, makes JR promise not to tell Maria but he flowers they bought were not from his friends but from Pablo Guerrero.
Wilson plays a trick on his father to get a check for the money he needs made out in his name.

8/23/02 - Federico tells JR he had no choice; his friends reneged, he didn't know that Maria's buyer Pablo Guerrera was the man from Cartagena until Bogota. Ligia asks Mauricio and ? and Antonio why they are shipping the flowers in somebody's (JR's) boxes. Antonio tells Bernardo he has to come up with an explanation. Ligia questions her guard, Efren?, about Pablo. He says they've worked together about a year but doesn't know much about him, assures her that Antonio is a "correct" man.
Pablo's mother hears him on the phone asking how to call the U.S. and how much it will cost. Pablo calls Maria and her mother answers, in English. He tells her he can't come to Miami now but will see her on St. Valentine's day. He tells her he's talked with his novia but it went in one ear and out the other. She tells him that Federico was very understanding, but he father is another matter. Maria asks her to call her every day; he gives her his number. She asks him if he still loves her;he says yes, every day more, hangs up and checks the length of the call. Pablo's mother asks if that was the woman who bought all his clothes. He assures her that it was Antonio who gave him the clothes. She is worried about the fact that he seems to have become a liar. He promises her will explain in a few days.
Antonio prepares to dress for a night out with Sofia (already getting dressed) when Ligia suddenly returns home. She tells him she didn't want to wait for morning to talk with him, is surprised to see him in a robe, asks what JR has to do with the Valentine flowers. Antonio makes up an explanation that puts the blame on JR, tells Ligia he is doing it because he hates them and wants to destroy them. Antonio tells her they invented a false company to sell the flowers, admits it was Bernardo who handled the business. Ligia can't believe that he is happy about what he did. She objects that they have never before done anything incorrect or unethical. She is especially upset because he didn't tell her his plans: she is not only an impediment to his amores but to the business. He asks her what she is doing at his side if that is what she thinks of him. When she decides to sleep elsewhere, he asks her if she still feels something for JR. He goes to the room and asks to speak with her; she refuses.
Antonio calls Sofia. She tells him that she hold nothing against him for Cartagena, but has separated. Antonio asks to talk with her about buying her land, arranges to meet her (and ends up having to escape from Ligia). Sofia arrives at the bar and asks for Antonio.He arrives later, apologizes to her for his behavior in Cartagena.
