Alejo le confiesa a Ligia que está interesado en María Alcalá. Sofía y Antonio deciden prolongar su cena. Ligia descubre que Antonio no está en la casa y llama al celular de Sofía. Ana acusa a José Ramón de no permitir que María tome sus propias decisiones. Ligia le dice a Antonio que hablará con José Ramón. Tulia le cuenta a Jenny que Wilson se va del país.
José Ramón enfrenta a María y le pregunta si es cierto que le compró las flores a Pablo. Wilson le pide a Pablo que lo ayude a conseguir un vuelo a México con cargamentos de flores. Ana se sorprende cuando José Ramón le dice a María que entiende que luche a brazo partido por Pablo. Federico le pregunta a Rodolfo cuál es el plan para sacarle dinero al "enano" de José Ramón. Alejo humilla a los escoltas delante de Antonio.

Pablo le pide a Susy que le averigue por los vuelos a México. Alejo deja metido a Antonio en la oficina por irse a jugar. Antonio le cuenta a Berni que Sofía quiere algo serio con él. Pablo habla con el sacerdote para que interceda ante Cindy y así no seguir adelante con el matrimonio. Pablo le cuenta a Alvarito que se va para Estados Unidos como ilegal. Federico recibe el e-mail que Alejo le envió a "María".
Rodolfo y Federico contestan el e-mail que Alejo le envió a "María". Pablo y Wilson fijan fecha para su viaje. Cindy le dice a Pablo que lo deja en libertad. Ligia se muestra celosa con Sofia ante Antonio. Cristian le pregunta a Pablo sobre manejo de armas. Sofía le dice a Antonio que no será su amante. José Ramón se entera con quien en verdad fue que Federico hizo el negocio.

Cindy le dice al fármaco de su barrio que tiene retraso en su periodo. Pablo le cuenta a Susy sus planes de viaje. Ligia busca a Sofia y ésta le cuenta que se separó. Cindy le informa a Jenny que Pablo se irá a Miami. Wilson se entera que Jenny está dispuesta a entregarle su virginidad. Nestor se entera que supuestamente María y Alejo se están comunicando por internet. José Ramón llama a Pablo.
Cindy le pide a Johana que falsifique una prueba de embarazo. Pablo logra que José Ramón le expida un documento que respalde la deuda que aún hay pendiente por la venta de las flores. Antonio trata de manera apática a Sofía. José Ramón le cuenta a María que habló con Pablo. Efraín le saca información a Nestor sobre los amoríos de Antonio.

Antonio se muestra celoso cuando Pablo le cuenta que José Ramón le cayó muy bien. María le propone a Pablo irse a vivir a Miami. Berni le advierte a Antonio no meterle corazón a su relación con Sofía. Cristián y el grupo de maleantes con el que anda se interesan en robarsen el carro de Antonio. Pablo se da cuenta que los están siguiendo y trata de proteger a su jefe
Sofía le propone a Antonio un negocio juntos para asegurar su futuro económico. Wilson tiene un sueño "porno" con Jenny. Pablo le cuenta a su familia que se va de viaje. Rafael se entera que los repuestos que Wilson compró no han llegado. Cristian también anuncia viaje. Susy se reúne con un amigo que puede ayudar a Pablo a viajar hasta México.
08-30-2002 (viernes)
Alejo le comenta a Antonio que tiene una cita en el chat con "María". Pablo le cuenta a Wilson toda su historia de amor con María. Efraín le confirma a Ligia que Antonio salió con una extranjera en Cartagena. Wilson confirma que Jenny lo perturba. Susy le cuenta a Pablo que su amigo lo ayudará en el viaje. Johana le entrega la prueba de embarazo a Cindy.
Jenny escucha una sospechosa conversación entre Johana y Milady. Federico hace aparecer a "María" ante Alejo como una mujer lanzada. Pablo decide hablar con Rafael para informarle que no se casa con Cindy. Wilson descubre a Cristian cuando está a punto de salir de viaje y de paso se entera que los repuestos son robados.
USA 8/26-30/02. 8/26/02 - Pedro tells his mother the whole story. She thinks that Antonio took advantage of her and can't believe that a rich girl could love him. Finally, she says she thinks she understands him and supports him. But, she tells him Maria's money is an obstacle. Worse is the lie between them.
Sofia tells Antonio she and her husband are divorcing, asks about him, if he's thought of separating. He says yes but it isn't easy; he and his wife also share the business. Antonio drives Sofia home and they have sex. Afterwards, Sofia's cell phone rings. It is Ligia. She asks if Antonio is there. Sofia says that Antonio must have called about the sale of the land. Ligia tells Sofia she would prefer that she deal with her not with Antonio. Then Ligia calls Bernardo. Sofia tells Antonio she wants a serious relationship, can't understand the men who just want sex. She asks him if there is a chance for them after he separates. He says of course but it is still too early. She has just left her husband.
Ligia wakes up, calls for Antonio but finds Alejo coming home late, and drunk. He wonders why she isn't with his father, remarks that his car isn't there. Alejo tells Ligia he plans to marry JR's daughter. Ligia tells him that the enmity is due to money, that the girl he is talking about is probably 3-4 years older than he. After Alejo says goodnight, Ligia checks Antonio's cell phone, sees that the last call was Sofia.
Wilson isn't happy that Joanna doesn't seem overly upset by his plans to leave.
The next morning, Antonio enters the house and Ligia finds him on the sofa. She asks him where he was, says she is disappointed in him, demands again to know where he was. He acts offended to, especially because of her attitude toward the business deal he made, tricking JR.
Ana tells JR that the problem with Maria is that he never let her make her only decisions so, of course, she is making mistakes now. He tells her he won't permit anybody to question how he raised his daughter. When Ana gets up from the table, he tells her to stay but she leaves anyways.
Jenny is upset when her mother tells her that Wilson is going to the U.S., was talking with Herminio. Her mother suspects her feelings, tells her that he is too old for her. Later, Herminio talks with Wilson about his trip, reminds him that he can't speak English. Wilson asks Herminio for some information that Herminio doesn't think would be right to give him.
At table, JR asks Maria why she made the business deal with Guerrero. She admits it, says she did it for her father, couldn't tell Federico because he wouldn't have accepted it. Ana tells her daughter that she can't believe she would use Federico that way, "tan bajo". But JR's reaction is different, says he believes in doing what you have to to accomplish your objectives, but does get Maria to admit that she wanted to see Pablo again. She admits it, says she wanted to clairfy her feelings. She assures her father that he will like Pablo. JR is disappointed, however, when he learns that Pablo isn't blond with blue eyes.
Pablo is upset when he learns that Antonio was out the night before without a guard.
Federico assures Rodolfo that JR will discover the truth about the flowers, knows that Antonio is just waiting for the sale to be complete to tell JR the truth, that the two of them must be far away when that happens, far away and with money, tells him to think of it as payment for their services.

8/27/02 - The plotting of Federico and Rodolfo is interrupted by the entrance of JR. Maria calls Pablo and tells him that JR knows he is the seller of the flowers. She tells him that her father wants to meet him. They expect to see him this weekend. Maria asks what has happened to prevent him from coming.
Alejo gambles while he should be at work, continues to insult Ernesto.
Pablo admits to the padre that he loves Cindy but not enough to marry her. He has told her but she just won't listen. He asks the padre to talk with Cindy and he agrees. When he asks Pablo what he will do if Cindy doesn't listen, Pablo says he is going to the U.S. to see Maria, begs the padre to keep her name a secret. He swears to the padre that he hasn't had sex with Cindy in two months, since he met Maria. The padre talks with Cindy, tells her that Pablo doesn't want to marry her. She tells him she will take care of that, he is just infatuated with a rich woman who gives him fine clothes, etc. The padre is confused but asserts that that is irrelevant. Herminio doesn't love her and without love a marriage can't succeed. Cindy just tells him that Herminio is going to marry her, period. She ends the conversation and leaves.
Pablo tells Alvaro what he is going to do, admits he doesn't have a VISA. Alvaro reminds him that when JR discovers he is Antonio's bodyguard, he will assume the two are in the plot against him and he is using Maria.
Antonio tells Alejo that there are regular hours of work and they must set the example. He says he was at the gym and his father partly backs down, says he can be late one or two days just not every day. After he leaves, Antonio tells Bernardo that Alejo is playing a game with him to see who will tire first.
Jenny visits the auto shop and stands next to the car under which Wilson is working. She is wearing a very short skirt and stands so he can hardly avoid looking up it. She chats then goes away then comes back, says she heard he is going to the U.S. and wants him to know she would miss him. She leaves again. Wilson goes back under the car, rolls himself out again with an odd look on his face, rolls back under the car. .
Susi tells Pablo that the first flight with flowers to Mexico is the 21st, the day of his wedding. Rodolfo gives Federico an email for Maria from Alejandro, un tipo who met her the night before. Federico asks Rodolfo to reply for Maria. It is a positive reply, arranging a meeting, and Alejo is thrilled when he gets it.
Pablo asks Wilson if his offer, to go jointly to the U.S., is still open. Pablo admits the trip would be the day of his wedding with his sister. Cindy interrupts the conversation and Wilson leaves. She calls Pablo a coward for sending the padre to her. He tells her he has tried every way he could to tell her he doesn't love her. She seems to give in, tells him to marry the rich vieja. Then she reminds him of all the money and the gifts and tells him he is going to marry her.
8/28/02 - Cindy and Pablo talk. Cristian seems surprised when Herminio unholsters his gun at some. Sofie calls Antonio, accepts his apology. She tells him that Eduardo is prepared to sell his land. She wants to talk with him first. Ligia tells her bodyguard she thinks Antonio has something with Sofie and needs to know. Pablo tells Antonio that JR knows he was the seller of flowers. Cindy hurts herself while working on the car. The doctor tells her the gossip in the barrio is that she and Herminio aren't getting along. She assures him they are going to be married. He asks her if she wants to start a family at once or wait because if she want's a family fast, she needs to stop taking the pills. She tells him she stopped taking them a while ago. He says if she is going to marry Herminio, it doesn't matter. She tells him that she hasn't taken the pill for about 4 months and the last time she had sex with Pablo was 2 months ago. Then he asks her is she's been late. She gets a weird smile on her face. Later, when she is with Jenny, she pretends to faint and Jenny asks if she is pregnant. Cindy tells Wilson that Jenny is willing to lose her virginity to him.
Pablo talks to Susy about Maria. He tells her he wants to go to Mexico with 2 other people. She tells him Josue probably can't help. Susi says she has an idea, will try to help.
Ligia visits Sofie, tells her that Antonio asked her to handle the transactions. She mentions she is getting a divorce. Sofie says she heard rumors that the same thing was happening with her. Ligia tells her that she and Antonio are getting along fine. Sofie doesn't believe her because of her trip to Cartagena, the phone calls, her visit today.
JR tells Federico that the clients are pleased with the flowers.
Alejandro gambles. Cindy looks for Johana, tells her that there isn't going to be a wedding. Nestor hears Alejo tell his friend about the email from the girl in Miami.
JR calls Pablo. He doesn't want to answer, but Antonio convinces him he has to.

USA, 8/29/02 - Antonio coaches Pablo as he talks with JR who wants to sell all his product. Pablo asks him for una carta de credit something or other, explains that since they've been in business for only a few years. Federico overhears JR calling him useless; but Pablo defends the work that Federico did. Ligia walks in on Antonio, Bernardo and Pablo. Antonio asks Pablo to continue the conversation in the other room and tells Ligia he was talking to the university. Ligia tells Antonio that she discussed the sale with Sofia and Sofia refused. Just then Sofia calls and Ligia wants to know why she asked for him rather than Ligia. Sofia asks him why his wife made such a jealous scene and hangs up. Antonio continues to talk, says he doesn't understand such vicious gossip, laughs at the thought there could be something between them. He tells her he is sorry she doesn't want to do business with him, hangs up and blames Ligia for losing the business. She admits it was her fault, tells him that he can conduct the business with Sofia. He swears to her that she is the only woman in his life, invites her out for the evening, but she tells him she has to get back to the cultivation(?).
JR demands that Pablo come for Valentine's day, tells her that Maria is the most important person in his life. Pablo tells him that she feels the same about him and JR visibly softens. Then he becomes fiercer and asks what he did to her that she has changed so much, confronts him, does what she wants. Pablo says he's done nothing but then JR seems to thank him, it is good to know that she has character. JR calls Maria and tells her that he was talking with Pablo and liked him, that they will discuss business in Miami on Valentine's day.
Antonio assures Pablo he won't need him at night, will not be going out, then asks him about the rest of the call with Antonio. Pablo tells Antonio he thought JR behaved very well, seemed like a direct person. Antonio can't believe him. But Antonio tells him it is he that really worries him: when JR learns that he was fronting for him, all the hatred he feels toward him will be transferred to Pablo, with interest, because it involves his daughter. Cindy tells Johanna she has thought of telling Pablo that she is pregnant. Johanna tells her not to but agrees to think about it.
Nestor and the other guard talk about the private lives of Ligia and Antonio.
Cristian and his "socios" discuss the job they are going to do (have no idea what the illegal activity is).
Efraim tells Ligia what Nestor told him, that in Cartagena Antonio was with two women, one a gringa.
Pablo discovers Antonio driving off alone that night, reminds him that he is responsible for his safety. Antonio tells him it was a last-minute thing, needs his privacy. Pablo insists on driving. Cristian and his socios follow. Pablo notices the car that is following. Pablo doesn't know that Cristian is the driver behind him. Pablo turns off into a street without an exit, turns around, hides the car, hides Antonio in some garbage. Cristian's car backs up and Pablo waits with a gun. The "boss" gets out of Cristian's car with a gun. Antonio prays. Antonio calls out Pablo's name. Cristian recognizes Pablo and drives away. Pablo gets the boss and scares off the other. The one remaining man in Cristian's car draws a gun on him, but Cristian gets out of the car. Pablo gets Antonio out of the garbage, they get back in the gar. Pablo has a night watchman hold a rifle on the injured "boss".

USA, 8/30/02 - Antonio arrives at Sofia's house late and tells her what happened. Sofia asks Antonio to be honest with her. She wouldn't wish a divorce on anybody, so if he doesn't want to leave his wife, be honest with her and tell her. She doesn't want to be his lover. He tells her he loves her, they discuss business for a bit. Pablo listens to the car radio and dreams of Maria. She dreams of him. Wilson dreams of Jenny, sees Pablo in the dream, wakes up and reminds himself that Jenny is a child.
The next morning Pablo admits to his mother that he is going to Miami. Jenny wonders if he is going with Wilson; Pablo says no. Cristian wonders where he is getting the money and how he is going to get a visa. Pablo has answers. Cindy pretends to be nauseous while eating breakfast with Wilson and her father. Wilson's father accepts his decision to go to the U.S., although he thinks it is a mistake. He offers Wilson the money, but Wilson refuses.
Susy eats with ? and tells him the favor she wants. She tells him that her best friend wants to go to the U.S. through Mexico but doesn't have visas, so she thought of the flower consignment. He tells her he can't, he is the head of security, he would lose his job. But, finally, she tells him to send her friend to him. Perhaps they can think of something.
Antonio tells Alejo that Pablo has saved his life twice. Alejo asks if that is why he loves him more than his own son. Antonio says that he has learned a lot from Pablo, has become more human. Alejo asks his father for tickets to Miami so he can see Maria Alcala who emailed him that she has broken up with her boyfriend. Alejo tells him he has no problem with his future suegro and plans to visit her.
Pablo tells Wilson the girl he loves is named Maria. Antonio gives Sofia a loving wake-up call and to thank her for the previous night. Antonio asks Pablo not to tell Ligia what happened.
Susy tells Pablo who to call. He thanks her, tells her that his friend Wilson is Cindi's brother. Pablo tells her he is sure that Cindy accepts that it is over. Susy tells him no, she is planning something against him.
At the same time, Johana gives Cindy a proof of pregnancy. Johanna explains to her how to behave but doesn't think it will work. When Cindy runs into Jenny she acts odd, says she just had some tests done. Then Cindy tells her she is going to leave Herminio free. When Jenny says something that makes Cindy think she plans to have sex with Wilson, she tells her not to.
Antonio tells Bernardo about his night with Sofia, tells him they will be novios only until the deal is done. Somehow, he has to convince her to sell the land to the company.
Cindy has a problem with a customer who insists she repaired the car with a used part. She says they use only new parts. Cindy takes out the part and tells Wilson that it is a used part. Cindy tells Wilson to replace it with a new part at no charge.
Alejo sends another email to Maria asking for her personal email. Antonio asks Alejo about the flowers sent to Spain. Alejo hadn't checked so he asks Susana who says all is fine.

14-11-2000 Wilson oye por primera vez del "hueco" para ingresar a los Estados Unidos. El Coronel accede a que Pablo siga trabajando para Antonio. Ana le cuenta a sus padres que seguirá adelante con Pablo. A Cristián le proponen ganar más dinero robando carros. Federico le dice a José Ramón que María se escapo con Pablo todo un día. María pone al tanto de su viaje a Colombia a Silvana. 15-11-2000 Federico se las ingenia para lograr que José Ramón no lo culpe por las pérdidas del negocio. Antonio le dice a Pablo que no se ilusione con que María lo acepte cuando sepa quién es en realidad. María se enfrenta a José Ramón quien termina suavizando la situación cuando se entera de la situación económica de Pablo. Antonio le hace un análisis social a Pablo de su relación con María. 16-11-2000 Wilson le dice a su familia que le dieron la visa. Ligia intenta acercarse a Alejo pero éste la rechaza y le cuenta que Antonio está pensando en pagarle una carrera a Pablo. Wilson le cuenta a Pablo la verdad y le propone que se vayan juntos. Pablo le cuenta a Nestor que tendrá que seguir con Alejo. Federico le propone a Rodolfo hacer un desfalco a la empresa. Genaro le explica a Wilson como será el viaje para ingresar ilegalmente a Estados Unidos. 17-11-2000 Antonio le explica a Ligia porque quiere ayudar a Pablo con los estudios. Rodolfo le cuenta a Federico que quien le vendió en realidad las flores fue Antonio Santamaría. Antonio le cuenta a Bernardo que Alejo está interesado en María. Nestor le dice a Pablo que está pensando en renunciar. Rodolfo le plantea a Federico como contarle a José Ramón que fue engañado por Santamaría. Pablo empieza a averiguar sobre su universidad.
20-11-2000 José Ramón llama a Antonio para restregarle que logró dejarlo en la ruina. Rafael le pregunta a Wilson si está decidido a irse de Colombia. Federico le confiesa a José Ramón que las flores se las compró a Pablo. Wilson le entrega a Cristián el dinero de los repuestos. Ligia nota algo raro en el cultivo. Antonio cuadra una cita con Sofía. Ligia decide ir en busca de Antonio. 21-11-2000 Ligia le pide a Efraín que la ayude a averiguar en qué anda Antonio. Pablo llama a María y le pide que viaje a Colombia. Antonio se ve obligado a contarle a Ligia parte de la verdad de la venta de las flores para San Valentín. Pablo le cuenta a su madre todo sobre María. Cuando Antonio piensa que no le podrá cumplir la cita a Sofía, Ligia le da la excusa perfecta para asistir. 22-11-2000 Alejo le confiesa a Ligia que está interesado en María Alcalá.
