USA, 10/2/02 - Antonio goes to his house to see Alejo and Ligia asks her how the wedding went. He says everything happened, then returns the conversation to Alejo who isn't there. Antonio compliments her on her looks, asks for a chance to talk. She agrees but forces him to sit across the room. Later, tells Ligia that Pablo didn't marry. She tells him that Alejo won't study, won't work, is out until all hours and that Alejo is jealous of Pablo. Antonio and Ligia talk about Pablo and Maria and Alejo, try to understand what is going on with her. Antonio promises to spend more time with Alejo, tells Ligia he misses her. He kisses her, but she pushes him away, tells him not to come back, let the lawyers handle things. Just then, Alejandro and Juanchol, drunk, arrive with two drunk girls on their arms. Alejo tells them the girls are from Pablo's barrio. He tells them that if they were interested in him, they wouldn't be getting a divorce. Antonio tells Alejo that he doesn't want the divorce, asked Ligia to forgive him, but she won't. Ligia tells Alejo she won't change her mind and it is up to him to accept reality, to act as an adult. Alejo tells them he never wants to see Pablo again in his life, fire him. Both refuse. He tells them to forget him.
Nestor takes Alejo and Juancho (Pancho?) to Paula's, but she is going out with Nacho. Nestor asks to talk with her alone, asks her if the guy is her novio. She kisses him, then goes off with the man.
Eduardo and Sofia meet with José Ramón who tells her that all of her associates have agreed to sell to him. She refuses again. Then he tells her that everybody knows she is involved with Antonio. Eduardo agrees to sell his land, but the offended Sofia refuses. JR explains about the flowers, admits that he wants to destroy Antonio. Sofia continues to refuses and convinces Eduardo to hold off a decision until after they have talked in private. Eduardo tells JR he will have a decision on Monday. Back home, Eduardo asks for a second chance. She says ok, if they don't sell to JR. He becomes furious. Sofia tells Eduardo that she is upset with Antonio, but doesn't want to destroy him. While they were together, he was special to her. He asks her if she wants him to leave or what. She tells him she doesn't know, but she doesn't want him to sell to JR.
In the cargo hold, the three try to survive the cold by singing, talking, etc. They calculate how much money they have, in dollars. They survive the flight, of course. On the ground they wait for a chance to leave. Finally, the plane is empty and the number of guards has been reduced, but the doors are closed. Pablo opens a door, but they have to jump. Genardo is afraid of breaking an ankle or a leg. Genaro and Wilson get out ok, but the guards hear them. Pablo knocks out one of the guards and the three make a run for it. The other guard finds his companion and gets on the walkie talkie as the three scramble over the gate.

USA, 10/3/02 - Pablo, Genaro and Wilson meet and make arrangements with some men who promise to take them across the border.
Sofia calls Antonio, tells him she has to talk with him. At the restaurant. Antonio admits that Ligia and he are still separated. She tells him he needn't lie, just tell her that he wants to reconcile with Ligia. Antonio tells her she is right in part, the separation is bad for Alejo. She doesn't believe him. He tells her that he invented the story of Ligia's illness because of her insistence on formalizing the relationship. It scared him. She tells him she was really in love with him, asks if he loved her. He tells her while they were together, he was in love. She asks him if he loved her or her land. He tells her both matter, he keeps the business and the personal separate. She asks him what he would say if he knew that she sold her land to JR. He asks what? She tells him she sold out to JR. Antonio becomes furious. She is surprised by his anger. Then he insults her and she realizes that he slept with her only for the land. After a few more insults, she tells him she didn't sell the land and had convinced Eduardo not to because she doesn't believe in vengeance, but now he deserves it.
She goes to JR, tells him she will sell. When he makes an offhand comment about Antonio's dirty associate Pablo, she tells him that Pablo is Antonio's bodyguard, that Antonio bought him the clothes, etc. so he could pass as a major flower grower.
Federico and Maria and Silvana and her mother put together a guest list, with Federico proposing most of the guests. Silvana suggests that Maria might like to invite some University friends; he tells her they want a higher class of people. Then Federico and Ana discuss the band,the food. Maria barely says a word, leaves the table. Silvana follows her. Maria tells her she is sure that Pablo loves her, remembers that it was she who called him about the flowers not the other way around, doesn't know what to do.
Federico promises Maria he will make sure her father doesn't hurt Pablo, will always be her friend.
JR beats up Fermey because Pablo is a bodyguard and romanced his daughter. Alejo and Rodolfo echat again and Rodolfo tells Federico that Alejo's parents are divorcing; he tells JR, then explains about the trick with Alejo. JR is sure that Antonio is directing his son although Federico doesn't agree. Ismael calls Susy to tell hers that Pablo and his friends got on the flight and arrived safely. Ismael, married, asks Susy out, one favor for another. She tries to brush him off, but can't and gives in.
JR goes to Antonio's building, sees the bodyguards and steps on the toes of Nestor and Efrain (Ferney corrects him afterwards), but realizes his daughter couldn't love Alvaro. Then he and Ferney head into the building and the guards finally realize who he is and where he is going and run after him.

10/4/02 - JR and Ferney barge into Antonio's office. Shortly thereafter, Nestor, Efrain and Alvaro enter with guns drawn. Antonio has the bodyguards lower their arms and leave. It soon becomes obvious that JR knows about the flower sale and about Pablo; it is also clear that Antonio doesn't know JR has bought the land he wanted. JR pretends to praise Antonio for the way he used Pablo to seduce his daughter. After he cuts Bernardo's tie, Bernardo makes matters worse, tells him how they taught Pablo everything, planned for him to seduce Maria, paid him. Antonio makes a couple half-hearted attempts to tell the truth but lets Bernardo continue. When JR brings up the subject of Pablo's wife and child, Antonio tells him he isn't married, that the woman was Ligia and she was part of the plan. Shortly thereafter Ligia enters, JR confronts her about passing for Pablo's wife. She denies it and Antonio admits she wasn't a part of it. Then JR shows them a map of the land he has bought surrounding their land. Antonio can't believe it, says he had an agreement, but JR tells him he can verify things with a few calls. Then he goes on to explain some of his further plans (which I didn't understand). He offers Ligia the opportunity to join him since she is separated now from Antonio. Ligia refuses. As he leaves, JR tells them this is just the start, he will destroy their business. Afterwards, Ligia, Bernardo and Antonio talk. Antonio realizes he is partly to blame. Ligia asks him what they are going to do. Antonio tries ot come up with another plan.
Genaro, Wilson and Pablo are robbed by the men who were to take them across the border. Pablo uses a ruse to keep some of his money (takes some out of his pocket and gives them a false exchange rate; the rest was pinned inside a shirt). Wilson tells the all-too-trusting Genaro to let Pablo do the talking from now on. They walk back to where they started and talk with another group of men in the bar who propose a different route, through Houston.
Susy tells Antonio and Bernardo about Pablo. JR invites Ligia to talk with him over a meal and she accepts. After Susy tells Antonio of JR's call, he confronts Ligia who tells him she sees nothing to worry about. She is simply going to re-enforce her solidarity with Antonio. She doesn't understand his concern about the meeting.

Alejo se burla de Antonio por sus celos con José Ramón y Ligia. José Ramón se sorprende cuando Ligia le habla bien de Pablo. María espera ansiosa a José Ramón para que le dé noticias de Pablo. Wilson, Genaro y Pablo empiezan la travesía a Estados Unidos. María pide irse de vacaciones a otro país. 07-03-2001 Los ilegales se las ingenian para quitarle el hipo a Genaro. Juan Ramón le advierte a Ferney que debe estar pendiente de la llegada de Pablo. María le cuenta a Federico que se va de viaje. Antonio cumple su primera cita con la sicóloga. Ana le pregunta a José Ramón si le pedirá el divorcio. María decide enfrentar a José Ramón luego de verlo humillar a su madre. 08-03-2001 Antonio le cuenta a Ligia que Sofía vendió las tierras. José Ramón pierde la compostura cuando descubre que María conoce su verdadero origen. Sofía y Eduardo tienen una nueva discusión de la que ella sale muy herida. Dentro del baño los seis ilegales empiezan a desesperarse. Mauricio le cuenta a Ligia que está en boca de todo el mundo gracias a Antonio. 09-03-2001 Federico llama a sus padres para invitarlos al matrimonio. Pablo se las ingenia para salir del escondite, pues no resiste más el encierro. José Ramón se preocupa cuando Ana le pregunta qué le está ocultando a María. Pedro intenta sobrepasarse con Adela pero Pablo se lo impide. Rodolfo le advierte a Federico que es mejor girarle dinero a su padre para garantizar su asistencia al matrimonio. José Ramón piensa en descargar su odio contra Antonio en Alejandro.
12-03-2001 Bernardo le dice a Antonio que Ligia se está poniendo de parte de José Ramón. Federico logra convencer a su familia de asistir a la boda. Sofía se va de viaje, a pesar de que Eduardo intenta convencerla de lo contrario. José Ramón se niega a negociar con Antonio y exige hacerlo con Ligia. Pablo empieza a conocer mejor a Adela. 13-03-2001 Ligia llama a José Ramón y logra un acercamiento comercial con él. Pedro llega con nueve ilegales más. Antonio trata de acercarse a su sicóloga, pero no precisamente por interés profesional. Pablo trata de organizar a los ilegales para otro trayecto del viaje. Ligia le dice a Antonio que definitivamente decidió divorciarse. Alejo le cuenta a María por chat que sus padres se odian. Pedro tiene un nuevo enfrentamiento con los ilegales. 14-03-2001 María le pide a Alejo que viaje a Miami. Pedro logra llegar a un acuerdo con los ilegales. Federico le propone a José Ramón el nombre de Mauricio como posible aliado en contra de Santamaría. Pablo y los demás llegan a una casa que sirve de albergue, Adela se acerca cada vez más. Ligia le dice a Alejo que no tendrá sueldo a menos que cumpla con sus funciones en la empresa.
USA 10/7-11/02. 10/7/02 - JR meets with El Colonel who defends Pablo as one of his best men, tells JR that Pablo loves Maria. JR doesn't believe him and threatens to ruin his business. Meanwhile, Efrain gets Pablo's address from Jimmy, a friend of Pablo's and another guard, and gives it to JR. Efrain and JR go to Tulia's house, learn that Pablo isn't there. JR introduces himself as Maria's father. JR tells Tulia that his daughter knows the truth and hates him. She doesn't believe JR. Tulia tells him that Pablo got no money and assures him that if they love each other, nothing will stop them. She shows him the door. JR calls Ana to tell her that Pablo is looking for her, tells Ana to make sure that Maria doesn't answer the phone or see Pablo. When she asks JR about Ligia, he hangs up the phone. Efrain defends Pablo to JR. JR tells Efrain not to tell anybody else that Pablo is a bodyguard.
Ligia makes an appointment with a psychologist for her and Antonio.
Antonio calls Ligia while she is dining with JR, but Ligia turns off her cell phone.. Ligia tells JR she isn't there to make her husband jealous but to find out why he wants to destroy them. JR tells Ligia that Antonio was responsible for what happened to him years before and has never forgotten. Ligia doesn't believe him. JR tells Ligia that he wasn't an embezzler, that her father ordered him to do what he did (inventing a fictitious company so they could convert money into dollars, selling used equipment as new) and was pleased with the money he made as a result. Then Antonio appeared told JR that he and Ligia were seeing each other secretly. Her father offered him money to stop seeing her; when he refused, her father denounced him as a thief. She was sent to London and Antonio "by accident" ran into her there. She can't believe her father would have done such a thing, or that Antonio could have. JR reminds her how he used his daughter. Then they talk briefly about their children. Ligia defends Pablo, says he really loves Maria. When JR tells her Pablo fell in love with the wrong person and Ligia tells him their story is repeating, he is acting just like her father acted. He denies it. She tells him that he hasn't succeeded in putting her against her husband. He says he is sorry then, but he is going to destroy Antonio. Ligia finds Antonio in the house when she returns home, tells Antonio she doesn't know with whom she is married. She tells him that JR is more honest and a better father. Antonio swears he did it because he loved her. She tells him she now realizes that he didn't stop loving her, he never started. He and her father were business associates, life-long friends, marrying her was just part of the business. She tells him she doesn't want to hurt him but must protect herself and what she has achieved, will divorce him as soon as possible. When asked if she hates him, she says no. But something has been broken: her love and respect for him. She says that JR is the same person as always: clara, honesto, transparente. She asks him to leave.
JR goes home and greets Maria. He tells her that he talked with Pablo who admitted that it was his idea to use her, that he and Antonio planned everything together. JR says he seemed to be a very ordinary person. Maria tells JR that's not how he seemed to her. JR adds that Pablo is very much in love with his wife.
Pedro takes charge of Pablo, Genaro and Wilson who hand over half the money. Six hours in the locked bathroom of a bus.
USA 10/8/02 - Antonio discovers that his psychiatrist is tall, blonde and beautiful and tells her his problem is that he wants to divorce his wife. JR tells Ana that Ligia didn't know what her father did, is separated, and is completely honest. When Ana asks him if he wants a divorce, he doesn't answer. Maria overhears and talks with her father who tells her that her mother has always been ashamed of him, that's why they never see either family. After marrying him, Ana changed his clothes, the way he spoke, ate, etc.; that's why she must marry somebody of the same class they are now. Sofia tells Eduardo she simply decided to sell to JR. He asks for a second chance. Mauricio tells Ligia all the company's problems are due to Antonio and he wants her to be President. In the bus, they get past a police check (the girl kisses Genaro to keep him from hiccuping) and Pedro tries to calm them all down by teaching them a relaxation/visualization trick. (Six of them are stuffed into the small bathroom on the bus). Genaro almost goes nuts.
USA 10/9/02. Unable to breathe, Pedro knocks out the door and the group escapes, learns that the trip takes much, much longer than the six hours they had been told. They reach an agreement of sorts with Pedro about having some time out of the bathroom. When the bus gets where it's going, they are transferred to a small van and driven to another town where they must wait for a day. There are arguments about food (too little) and washing (no showers). Pedro makes some passes at the one woman, but Pedro defends her.
Federicio calls his father and asks him to come to his wedding. His father says he can't, they are about to lose the house because of the money he stole (Federico corrects him "borrowed"). His father says he must return the money and pay for the trip if he wants them there. Federico works things out with Rodolfo (more embezzlement I assume), calls his father back. He will send him $80,000 on two conditions: that he pay for the trip out of that money and that his grandfather, the ex-president, comes to the wedding. His father doesn't want to be associated with JR, objects to his son marrying for money ("I love her", says Federico), but finally agrees provided they don't have to talk with JR or have their pictures taken with him. JR and Fed make plans re Alejo.
Maria goes away for a few days to think. Ana asks JR if he really talked to Pablo because if he was lying and Maria finds out, she will never forgive him. JR says he did.
At Antonio's board meeting, everybody, including Ligia and Bernardo, vote against him and for negotiating with JR. Alejo makes a brief appearance, long enough to embarrass his parents (not in college, works in the company doing nothing like everybody else). Mauricio also demands a new President; Ligia asks them to wait until they know the results of the negotiation. Antonio reluctantly calls JR who says he will negotiate only with Ligia. Bernardo tells Antonio to accept the condition; Ligia could never prefer JR to him.
10/10/02 - The trip north continues. Pablo's group joins another group and they're all stuffed into a van. Antonio flirts with his psychologist, explains that he can't help being attracted to other women, that it is part of his nature, invites her out. She refuses. Ligia and JR talk about a business deal; he agrees to review a proposal she will send him. Alejo emails Rodolfo (posing again as Maria) and tells him that his father prefers a bodyguard to him, etc. Federico passes the news onto JR but doesn't understand the significance. They agree to arrange a meeting in Miami between Alejo and "". Federico's father gets the money that Federico sent him, promises to talk with his father about attending the weddingMaria.
10/11/02 - Rodolfo gives Federico the name of one of the shareholders in Antonio's company, Mauricio, and Federico remembers meeting him and his dislike of Pablo. Federico gives the name to JR who calls him and offers to buy his stock. Mauricio tells Antonio, Bernardo and Ligia he is selling out; when they discover who the buyer is, they are, of course, furious. Ligia calls JR who swears it wasn't his idea; Mauricio just offered to sell. Mauricio tells them how much he was offered and they try to figure out how to buy him out. Cristian talks with Cindy, offers to work in the shop. She tells him she wants nothing to do with him. He then talks to the man with whom he'd had crooked dealings before and reaches some kind of deal. Cristian, his mother and Rafael talk and Rafael offers to hire his, at the minimum salary for a two-month trial. Pablo and the others reach the place where they must pay the other half of the money. Each gets a chance to make a call and Pablo calls his mother. Genaro can't reach his contact. The woman in the original group mentions to Pablo that Wilson tried to reach his girlfriend, Jenny. Pablo confronts Wilson, asks him how he could do such a thing, demands to know if Jenny was with him the night before they left.
