10/28/02 - Alejo calls his father, says he's been arrested for passing counterfeit money, tells how Alcala set him up. Bernardo says they need to know how much: $3,000. Antonio says he'll be in Miami the next day. Alejo gives him the name of the hotel, asks him not to tell his mother. Antonio calls JR, asks how he could do that to his son. JR reminds him what he did to his daughter. JR suggests they make an agreement to leave their children out of the fight from now on. Antonio swears that JR will pay and hangs up. He and Bernardo try to figure out what to do. Bernardo suggests they tell the judge that the boy was tricked. As for JR, Antonio says they need to reconcile Pablo with Maria. Antonio talks with Ligia, admits he has lied but it is her fault. He was afraid to tell her that the psychologist was beautiful for fear of what she would think. Antonio tells Ligia he is going to Miami, doesn't want to leave Alejo at the mercy of JR and Maria, doesn't tell her he is in jail.
Pablo calls Gonzalo, learns that he is out of town for a week. Pablo says they have no place to stay. The woman he talks to, Juanita, is also from Colombia suggests that he call the owner, Doña Carlota, tells her he is a friend of Gonzalo and it turns out that he owes her rent. She tells him all the rooms are rented, but for the night he could use Gonzalo's. Shee gives him the address. Pablo and Wilson can't believe that everybody in the area speaks Spanish, learns how to get to little Havana by bus.
Wilson and Pablo use a change machine, ride the metro. Herminio and Wilson go to Doña Carlota (Carla), the contact, Gonzalo, that Genaro's cousin gave him. Juanita introduces herself to Pablo and Wilson, explains how hard it is to get work without papers. Then one of the other roommates turns up: it is Rodolfo! But he's never see Pablo and is introduced to him as Herminio.
Alejo is transferred to prison. Mauricio tells JR that most of the workers will stay with Antonio and Ligia, that Ligia will be in charge of something. JR tells him that Ligia, too, will fall.
As Tulia and El Colonel leave for a date, Rafael arrives at the door in a suit and with a gift and, with Tulia's agreement, joins them on the date. El Colonel and Tulia dance; he tells her that Rafael is jealous, she can't believe it.

10/29/02 - Juanita explains to Pablo and Wilson about laundromats. Wilson tries to find work. Pablo tries to find Maria's home. Ferné calls Alvaro to warn him that JR is waiting for Pablo and plans to put him in jail. Antonio and Bernardo go to the police to try to help Alejo, are told how he used the dollars to buy things, tries to run away. Antonio and Bernardo both talk to Alejo who swears he didn't know the dollars were false. Bernardo offers to the police a chance to prove what happened by taping a conversation. Back in the hotel, Bernardo tells Antonio that Alejo knew the dollars were counterfeit; Antonio doesn't believe it, doesn't believe his son is a crook. Bernardo drops the topic. Antonio tells him he wants to confront JR directly; Bernardo argues he shouldn't. then Antonio thinks of what JR will do to Pablo, given what he has done to Alejo.
Pablo asks the guard to tell Maria he is there, but she calls the police. He gets in the back of a van that is leaving, and when the driver gets to his home and finds Pablo actually decides to help him. Meanwhile, while talking with Maria, she tells Ferné she remembered how Pablo treated his bodyguards. Ferné tells Maria he doesn't share her father's opinion of Pablo. She suspects he knows something she doesn't, but he denies it, just tries to say things in Pablo's favor. The van driver tells Pablo that he can't use the name Herminio, suggests Henry. He is called Ricky (Ricardo). The two talk a bit then Pablo goes back to his rooming house.
Wilson gets to the automotive shop, then learns he can't work because he hasn't got papers and returns to his rooming house. Wilson and Pablo talk about their day.

10/30/02 - Alejo calls Federico from the police office, but JR suspects it is a trap and he pretends not to know Alejo. Rodolfo shares a snack with Pablo and Wilson, talks indirectly about doing things he doesn't like for a boss because of the help he was given; Pablo talks indirectly of having done similar things. Later, when Pablo realizes he needs a job, Rodolfo tells him he can get work as day labor for the Alcala enterprises and, although he doesn't explain his exact position in the company, Pablo and Wilson obviously realize that he works for JR. Antonio and Bernardo go to JR's office. Antonio confronts JR, threatens to make it known that his daughter is in love with a bodyguard if his son doesn't get out of jail and says that Pablo is in Miami. JR, forcefully, asks Ferné to find out where Pablo is and when he reports that Pablo is back in Colombia, JR tells him what Antonio said. Ferné suggests that he was just trying to frighten him, then calls Alvaro and tells him that JR will no doubt check. All of Pablo's friends and working associates must say he is in Colombia. Jenny asks her mother about the Colonel. Bernardo sees Federico and threatens to tell his grandfather about his dealing in counterfeit dollars. Federico pretends to be completely innocent of course. Ferné continues to defend Pablo to Maria and, without saying so directly, she intuits that he is coming to see her.

10/31/02 - Pablo gets work in JR's business. JR's secretary Karen calls around in Colombia and tells JR that Pablo is there. Tulia must decide between Rafael and El Colonel. Rafael gives Cristian "administrative" work and follows his suggestions; when Rafael isn't there he romances Cindy and tells her he will ask her father for his hand. The police arrive at Alinc and ask for Federico. Federico tells them that Alejo called him and threatened him, that they had met once before in a disco where he bothered him and his novia, pretends, of course, complete ignorance of the counterfeit dollars. Rafael and Tulia talk. She tells him she has a great affection for him, but... He suggests she is interested in El Colonel; she says it is too soon to say but admits she hasn't felt this way since her husband died. He makes fun of falling in love at her age which makes he wonder what he wants. He says he wants them to see each other more, they make a good team, etc., etc. Then he tells her their friendship is at an end if she continues to see El Colonel. Antonio lies to Ligia about Alejo, admits something else (didn't understand) re JR. When Federico tells Rodolfo he may have to tell the police that it was all JR's idea, Rodolfo recalls his conversation wtih Pablo and Wilson and refuses. Doña Carlota reaches an agreement with Pablo and Wilson to exchange work in the house for a place to stay. Doña Tulia visits the Colonel in his office and they decide to skip the "Doña" and "El Colonel" for Arturo and Tulia, to spend some time together. He is worried about Rafael, she asks him to be patient. It is clear there is something between them. The U.S. police tell Bernardo and Antonio that there is no proof against Federico.

11/1/02 - Maria tells the guard she doesn't want to talk with Pablo. Then she changes her mind and drives after him, but misses him. Rodolfo having resigned because of the lack of a salary, Federico desperately tries to do his work and, of course, can't. Ferné admits to Maria that he has nothing against Don Pablo, but her father ordered him to keep Pablo away from her. Pablo learns that Rodolfo worked for Federico. Maria calls Antonio's company and Alvaro insists that Susana tell her that Pablo is there, per Ferné',s, instructions, but can't talk to her, She leaves a message, essentially "go to h*". Federico, unable to provide JR with the report he needs, goes after Rodolfo, assures him that he won't ask him to do anything illegal, that JR wants him back then admits he can't do the report. Rodolfo realizes he lied about JR but agrees to return for an increase in his salary. Ana calls Silvana and learns that her mother forbade Silvana to see her. Ana arranges to meet her, asks her mother if it is truth. Ana admits it, says Silvana is not the right type of person. Ana tells her if Silvana can't come to the house, she will go to her.
additional info: At breakfast, Rodolfo tells Pablo he has resigned. Antonio convinces the police to let Alejo go. Alejo wants to see Maria before he leaves the country, but the terms of his release are that he go straight to the airport. Antonio stays behind. Maria talks with Silvana on the phone. Federico looks for Rodolfo, tells him that JR sent him. Maria confronts her mother about Silvana. Ana says she is not the right kind of friend, but Maria tells her Silvana is her best friend, period. Federico swears to Rodolfo that he won't have to do any more "dirty" jobs. When Federico mentions the report that JR wants, Rodolfo realizes that he lied, that JR didn't send him. Rodolfo agrees to return, but only with a salary increase.

Jenny conoce a un jovencito que busca trabajo en el taller Casilimas. Pablo y Wilson llegan hasta la casa de María y esperan su salida. 09-05-2001 Jenny le pide a Cindy que ayude a Marlon. Pablo y Wilson siguen a María quien va en su carro acompañada de Silvana. Ligia le advierte a Antonio que no trate de impedir el matrimonio de María y Federico. Silvana le advierte a María que Federico puede reclamar sus "derechos" luego de la boda. Rafael se sorprende de los conocimientos en mecánica de Marlon. Pablo le pierde el rastro a María. 10-05-2001 Alejo trata muy mal a Nestor en su afan por vengarse de Pablo. Cuando por fin Pablo tiene la oportunidad de hablar con María, Wilson descubre que la policía se llevó el carro de Juanita. Paola le dice a Nestor que es normal que ella sólo lo desee y le muestra muy claramente su condición de tinieblo. Pablo se refugia en el trago. 11-05-2001 Pablo recibe la orden de llevar unas flores a la empresa de los Alcalá, pues María necesita escoger las que utilizará en la ceremonia. Hidelfonso le recomienda a Wilson trabajar en el taller de un amigo. Pablo conoce a José Ramón y hay empatía entre ellos. María le pide a Federico que después del matrimonio vivan solos.

Berni y Antonio planean utilizar nuevamente a Pablo, esta vez para dañar el matrimonio de María. José Ramón le advierte a Ana que tratará a los Villegas tal como ellos lo traten a él. Pablo le cuenta a Wilson que María se casa. Rafael ve cuando El Coronel y Tulia se besan. 16-05-2001 Rafael le cuenta a Cristian que Tulia y El Coronel estaban dando un 'espectáculo'. María se preocupa al notar que dos hombres en un carro la siguen. Wilson se aterra de ver a Pablo tan descontrolado. Tulia y Cristian tienen una fuerte discusión. María llama a la policía. Jenny se arregla para Marlon. Pablo confirma que el amor sí hace milagros. 17-05-2001 Pablo le pide a Ricky que le ayude a entrar en la casa de María. Pablo se encuentra con alguien que lo espera en la cafetería de Hidelfonso. Federico se enfrenta a su padre por la ausencia del abuelo. Antonio y Pablo discuten fuertemente. María le advierte a Federico que no soportará que sus padres le hagan más desplantes a José Ramón. Rodolfo le habla a Pablo del matrimonio de Federico. 18-05-2001 El día de la boda de María llega. Mientras José Ramón se muestra culpable, María no puede esconder su tristeza. Ricky y Pablo logran entrar al conjunto. José Ramón no puede evitar la tristeza al ver a María vestida de novia.
21-05-2001 María se hace conciente de la presencia de Pablo en su boda y éste pide hablar con ella. José Ramón le reclama a Ferney por haber permitido el ingreso de Pablo. María le dice a Federico que hablará con Pablo. Pablo le confiesa a María su condición de Escolta. 22-05-2001 Ernesto y Sara deciden retirarse porque no soportan la vergüenza que María les está haciendo pasar. José Ramón llega al lugar en donde Pablo y María están hablando y le pide a los escoltas que lo saquen. Pablo y María se despiden. María discute con José Ramón y le anuncia que no se casará.

11/4/02 - Back home, Alejo confesses to his mother what happened in Miami, that his father had to pay $20,000 to get him out, asks her what his father did to JR to make him hate him so much. She tells him how Pablo and Maria fell in love, how Antonio helped Pablo behave and dress properly, how Pablo helped Antonio save the company from bankruptcy, how he is now in Miami. Alejo assumes that Antonio went to Miami to save Pablo not him. Alejo, of course, hates Pablo even more now than before. Cristian gets Cindy into the back of a car, but then she calls him Herminio. Wilson fixes a car so Pablo can finally see Maria; their new friends give them instructions for driving in Miami. A 17-year-old boy, Marlon, goes into the shop of Jenny's mother, sees Jenny and is immediately attracted to her. It turns out that he is a mechanic who is looking for Rafael's shop; when Jenny doesn't believe he is a mechanic, he tells her he has to help support his family. They introduce themselves to each other. Marlon goes to the shop but Rafael won't give him a chance. When he tells Jenny, she goes to Cindy and convinces her to give Marlon a try, reminds her that people were reluctant at first to let a woman work on their cars. In Miami, Pablo and Wilson wait for Maria to appear, then follow her car. In the garage, they don't know how to use the ticket dispenser, so they pull into the spot next to Maria's car after she gets out.

11/5/02 - Ligia calls Antonio, hopes he isn't stsying in Miami to stop Maria's marriage, tells him that due to Alejo's attitude it isn't a good idea for Pablo to continue working for them. After she hangs up, Alejo comes into her office, in a suit. Pablo and Wilson follow Maria and Silvana into a mall, but while Pablo waits outside a store, the girls leave by another exit and the guys lose them..Both go elsewhere and, of course, practically walk past each other. Silvana and Maria talk about Pablo. But when Pablo and Wilson catch up to the pair, Pablo loses his nerve. Wilson walks up to Silvana and Maria but Pablo has disappeared. He remembers what Antonio and Bernardo told him about the impossibility of a woman like Maria accepting a body guard. Wilson finds him sitting on the beach; Pablo says she will never accept him. He thinks of all the dumb things he has done, tells Wilson he wants to go home. When Pablo and Wilson go back for their car, they find it gone; a passerby points out the "no parking" sign. The police have taken the car. Later, Juanita tells them not to worry; she will help them get the car. Pablo decides he needs to get really drunk and goes to a small club with Wilson. Very drunk, Pablo calls Maria on his cell phone, says hello, then has the singer sing into the phone. She has to stop listening when her mother finds her, crying. Pablo talks into the phone, tells Maria he loves her but she isn't listening.
Antonio calls Pablo's mother to warn her that JR knows Pablo is in Miami and will likely do worse to him than to his own, whom he got arrested. She tells him what little she knows.
Marlon proves his ability to Cindy and, thus, to Rafael. Marlon thanks Jenny.
Alejo is again rude to Nestor because he knwe about Pablo and Maria. Alejo tells him that there is no way Maria could like an ignorant person like Pablo; it's just as unliikely that Paula would like Nestor, etc., etc. Alejo tells his friends, Paula and ? , how "Herminio" (they laugh on learning that is his real name) tried to take not just his girl but his company. Paula agrees with him, but Alejo wants Paula to prove his point by telling Nestor he hasn't a chance with her. He continues to call Nestor and his "type" names. Later, he tells Nestor if he wants to keep working for him, he must help him get Pablo out of his life. Paula drives by and asks Nestor why Alejandro is so angry with him; Nestor says it is because he is the friend of his father's bodyguard. She invites him to join her.

11/6/02 - missed first half hour
JR tells Herminio one should never marry above oneself because you will never be good enough, will always be criticised for your clothes, the way you talk, etc. And, he tells Herminio, you will never be able to get into society with that name. JR confesses a secret that nobody knows, that his real name is Eustachio S?. He mentions that his daughter is going to marry Federico Villegas ?. He says the name with pride. Pablo gets out of the office at a run as Federico and Maria approach. He trips and falls, Maria goes to help him as Federico calls him a name, but he gets away without her recognizing him.
Maria tells Federico they can honeymoon anywhere except ?, which is where Pablo said he was going to honeymoon with his bride.
Federico's parents arrives at JR's house. They explain why his grandfather couldn't come, say that his sister had to do something with her thesis. JR tells them the house has everything a 5-star hotel could offer, even an 18-hole golf course. Federico's father says he doesn't like golf. A bit later when JR suggests they do business together (Federico's father is an architect), he replies that he doesn't see how or something like that.
Pablo tells Wilson about his conversation with JR, about Maria's wedding, recalls his begging her to give him 15 days, etc. Pablo tells Wilson she is marrying Federico because she thinks he is married; tomorrow he will talk to her.
Ana tells JR Federico's parents will be good in-laws for Maria. JR comments that they are antipatico, haven't even demonstrated any gratitude for all that is being offered to them. She tells JR that people like them don't talk about money. JR tells her the gandfather was a disaster as President, he will treat them as they treat him.
Tulia thanks El Colonel for all the wonderful places he has taken her, worries about the expense. He tells her he loves her, knows it is kind of fast but asks that she let him dream. She tells him that she, too, dreams of him. He tells her she is beautiful, tells her that Pablo asked him to care for her and Jenny. He asks for a kiss. Rafael watches them.
