In the current season, Univision broadcast 95 of the top 100 Spanish-language programs to this diverse community of more than 37 million.
Univision's innovative and never-before-seen concepts for the upcoming 2003-2004 season include the first-ever interactive novela "Rebeca," where viewers decide how the story ends; epic period drama "Amor Real" ("True Love"), expected to be the blockbuster novela of the season; Spanish-language television's first Teen Award Show, "Premio Juventud;" and a new primetime scripted series "Al Filo de la Ley" ("At the Edge of the Law"), based on real-life cases handled by a Hispanic law firm in California. New Programs
Novelas
Signature Univision Network programming includes blockbuster teen and family novelas, which feature Latin America 's most celebrated stars and culturally relevant themes, making novelas the most popular genre among U.S. Hispanics of all ages, with Super Bowl ratings every night. Premiering in daytime is the multigenerational novela "Bajo la Misma Piel" ("Under Your Skin") which tells the story of unpredictable love and irresistible passion. Filmed in exotic locations throughout Venezuela and the outskirts of the Amazon, "Enganada" ("Deceived") is a compelling drama about love and deception featuring an up and coming cast of actors. "Nina... Amada Mia" ("Precious One"), Mexico's #1 novela, is sure to be the primetime blockbuster of the season telling the original tale of three sisters and including an all-star cast and featuring a pop-music score with classic tracks from Alejandro Fernandez. This season, the Univision Network will also present the first novela to be entirely produced and filmed in Los Angeles, "Te Amare en Silencio" ("I'll Love You in Silence"), the story of a young, beautiful deaf woman and her pursuit for love and happiness amidst heartbreak and tragedy. Also in primetime, from the creators of "Gata Salvaje," Univision brings viewers "Rebeca," the first-ever interactive novela on Spanish-language television, where the viewers - not the writers - decide how the novela ends. Dramatic Series

Movies
The Univision Network will now have the largest collection of Spanish-language titles ever assembled in the U.S. Each week, Univision will offer Hispanic movie buffs something they won't be able to get on any other network: first-run, award-winning, Spanish-language theatrical productions. Hispanic TV viewers will be able to enjoy top films from Spain's highly acclaimed "new cinema" and contemporary hits from Latin America. Returning Favorites
The most-watched morning news-variety program on Spanish-language television, "Despierta America" ("Wake Up America"), hosted by Fernando Arau, Giselle Blondet, Ana Maria Canseco, Raul Gonzalez and Neida Sandoval will continue to brighten mornings for Hispanic Americans during the 2003-2004 programming season. Marta Susana also returns to host her successful morning talk show, "Marta Susana."
"Sabado Gigante" ("Gigantic Saturday"), the longest-running program on primetime television returns with the legendary "Don Francisco" to liven up Saturday nights for Hispanic viewers. Award winning talk-show host Cristina Saralegui will continue to entertain audiences with "Cristina," a weekly primetime show, where viewers can go for candid discussions on a variety of topics. Viewers can also look for the return of "Don Francisco Presenta" ("Don Francisco Presents") in its primetime slot, as well as Rafael Jose and an inimitable cast of imitators in Univision's star-studded hit comedy "Los Metiches" ("The Busybodies"), a unique Univision-produced comedy that parodies the hottest celebrities and most talked-about newsmakers.

Aunque el pobre, poco educado y honesto Pelluco sale a devolver la cartera, sus planes cambian cuando es seducido por la prometida de su gemelo, y decide probar un poco de la “buena vida”. Mientras, en el hospital Rodolfo (amnésico) toma la vida de Pelluco aunque está seguro que hay algo extraño cuando se ve a trabajando en un simple mercado. Los televidentes no podrán evitar sintonizar esta novela llena de humor, en donde el amor se pone a prueba mientras todos esperan el encuentro entre Rodolfo y Pelluco.
Inspirada en historias de la vida real y filmada en Houston, Texas, “La Ley Del Silencio” relata la historia del Padre Javier (interpretado por Mauricio Ochman); un Padre “moderno” quien utiliza el poder de la iglesia para unir la comunidad hispana de “El Silencio” y ayudar a sus residentes a conseguir aquello por lo que vinieron a Estados Unidos: tener una mejor vida.
“Médico de Familia” es una novela humorística protagonizada por Victor Mallarino (¿Por Qué Diablos?) la cual adopta un formato que ha tenido un éxito fenomenal en varios países. Los televidentes entrarán en la vida de Nacho, un doctor de familia quien ha quedado viudo y a cargo de sus tres hijos. Después que muere su esposa, Nacho decide salir de su ciudad natal en México para establecerse en los Estados Unidos en búsqueda de una mejor vida para él y los suyos. Esta novela hará que todos en la familia rían y lloren al verse reflejados en los problemas y triunfos diarios de éste médico y su familia.
Del reconocido productor Pepe Rendón, (“Corazón Salvaje”), llega a Telemundo “Alma Herida”, una novela llena de amor y traición. Esta es la historia de Eugenia, interpretada por Itatí Cantoral (María la del Barrio, Vale Todo), cuya familia es separada en su intento de cruzar la frontera de México con Estados Unidos. Después de varios intentos de reunirse con ellos, su madre regresa a México a tratar de ganarse el amor de su esposo e hija nuevamente. Eugenia, una joven y bella mujer, se enamora de Juan Manuel; un exitoso hombre de negocios quien la cortejaba a través de cartas de amor y quien había ayudado a su padre en los momentos difíciles. Juan Manuel, quien ha pagado y mantenido los estudios de su hermano menor, Alejandro, en Estados Unidos, es traicionado por él cuando este regresa a México lleno de envidia por todo lo que Juan Manuel posee; incluyendo el amor de Eugenia.
“Siete Mujeres” de TV Globo, Brasil, es una novela épica y cinematográficamente hermosa, protagonizada por Giovanna Antonelli y Thiago Lacerda. La historia transcurre en la zona rural del Brasil durante la revolución de 1835 y trata sobre siete mujeres quienes esperan que los hombres de sus familias regresen a casa después del combate. Juntas trabajan para sobrevivir grandes dificultades y las tragedias y alegrías del amor durante tiempos de guerra.
A petición popular Telemundo trae de vuelta su novela humorística más famosa con nuevos episodios, grabados en varias ciudades de los Estados Unidos. “Como Pedro Por Su Casa” comienza donde nuestro querido, cómico y pícaro Pedro Coral Taveras, Pedro el Escamoso (interpretado por Miguel Varoni), concluyó. Pero esta vez, la vida le ha jugado una mala pasada a Pedro y ahora, después de haber sido abandonado por su esposa, es nuevamente pobre, no tiene trabajo y deambula por la ciudad. Pero nada de esto detiene Pedro. Como el optimista que es, sigue luchando por encontrar el amor verdadero, no sin antes meterse en los problemas y cómicas aventuras de las cuales, con su estilo único, sólo Pedro sabe salir.

¿Cómo puede una mujer latina encontrar a su Príncipe Azul? En el nuevo reality show de Telemundo, “La Cenicienta”, en donde una “princesa moderna” tendrá a su disposición veinte guapos candidatos compitiendo por su atención, mientras toda la familia da su opinión. Además, la “princesa” consultará a un cura, un astrólogo y el anfitrión(a) quién se convertirá en su “hada madrina” a través de este viaje romántico. “Las Comadres” el nuevo talk show de Telemundo, trae a los televidentes cinco mujeres dinámicas de diferentes edades, experiencias y orígenes quienes discutirán eventos de actualidad; proveyendo un foro, tanto para la audiencia que está en el estudio como para la que está en su casa frente al televisor, en donde pueden discutir temas y eventos de su interés. El programa es amenizado por Yovanka Sánchez (mejor conocida por sus reportajes de espectáculos), Lily Kubilium (Nubeluz), María Regina (periodista y madre/abuela soltera con muchas experiencias para compartir con los televidentes), Kenya (conocida periodista de entretenimiento) y Olguita Dager (periodista de noticias quien ofrece sus experiencias como madre primeriza). Cada segmento de “Las Comadres” será co-producido por una de ellas e incluirá invitados especiales y expertos en varias áreas.

Con los recursos de NBC, la cadena de las Olimpiadas, Telemundo traerá los Juegos Olímpicos por primera vez en español, con la cobertura completa de los campeonatos de fútbol mas importantes del mundo, así como otros eventos de interés especial para la comunidad Hispana; un total de 129 horas. Telemundo también comenzará su segunda temporada como la voz en español de la NBA, trayendo los juegos nacionales semanalmente a la audiencia hispana. Además, regresando exclusivamente a Telemundo estarán los partidos de las ligas nacionales de fútbol de los Estados Unidos y México en su jornada para llegar a las Olimpiadas del 2004 y la Copa Mundial del 2006.

New York, NY -- 13 de mayo del 2003 -- Telemundo anunció hoy un acuerdo de producción a largo plazo con Jennifer López y Benny Medina. El primer proyecto en conjunto será una novela que relata la historia de una chica de barrio quien sueña con convertirse en estrella y está determinada a derribar todos los obstáculos que una joven latina enfrenta para poder triunfar. Algunos proyectos futuros incluyen un programa de variedades, música y baile.
"Yo quería involucrarme en hacer programas para Telemundo porque estoy comprometida en crear producciones de alta calidad para nuestra cultura. Veo esta oportunidad como una manera de poder acercarme a la audiencia hispano- hablante de manera diferente y más profunda que antes. me parece que clase 406 es la mejor telenovela mexicana que a salido en mucho tiempo, mezcla una sentido y realista y cómico y además me encantan los cueros que salen.
