Dear Paul
I'm shocked by the statement on the website - that people were abusive and vandalised the stage etc. My partner and I turned up, and were most grateful that you were even letting people into the pub, given that we were all wet and muddy. You'd have been well within your rights to refuse entry given the potential for damage to your business. We had a few drinks and we went back to our hotel when it became clear that nothing else was going to be possible. It was disappointing, but that's life. Anyone buying a ticket for a gig in the middle of nowhere in a British summer knows the risk they're taking, and if they love the music they'd feel it's worth the risk! I'm so sorry you had to experience such a dreadful time when you'd worked so hard to replicate the past amazing Blakeys. I hope that the acts of a few brainless idiots won't put you off trying again in the future - I'm sure most of us appreciate the efforts, love the music and feel dreadfully guilty we weren't there to help clean the carpets!
Thanks for everything - we'll be back if you can face organising another one!!
Ingrid
