The last music festival we ran in July 2005 proved that the event had grown to such a scale that it could not handle severe weather conditions and our facilities and organisation could not cope with such a large number of people trying to take shelter from the elements.
2005 turned into a financial, logistical, mental and emotional nightmare, and if anything, the weather since then is even more extreme and unpredictable. For these reasons we have pretty much retired from live music promotion and don't intend to hold anymore music festivals in the future, certainly not until Global Warming kicks in anyway!
I repeat my past sentiments that we are very sorry to everyone who enjoyed the Blakey Festivals and looked forward to them each year, we did have some great years and quite a few lucky escapes where bad weather hit the day after. Unfortunately nothing lasts for ever, lets just cherish the memories.
Sorry to hear there is no Festival this year(2007)

Sorry to hear that no festival is happening this year and none planned in the forseeable future. I would just like to say how much I have enjoyed them in the past and do remember the unbelievable bad weather of 2005? (Blimey I thought it was 2006!)Obviously lost a year somewhere. Hope continued interest is a comfort to you. We hope they will return one day. Best Wishes. Janet M
Unfortunately you've just missed an alternative one day open air concert at Selby, which was free as always funded by the Council.
This year we had good weather and a corking line-up which included Little Big Horn from Scarborough, the Catch-it Kebabs, The Blueflies (who were stunningly good), Breathing Space, The Jam'd (superb) and Roxyrama, the RM tribute band.
Next year's event will take place on Sunday June 15th and details will be on myspace.con/andyacko, as shortly will be photos of the 2007 event.
Big hello to Paul. Hope you are doing OK, mate and not working too hard.
