There's only so much that can be done with the short compression stroke on these things, so a stronger spring might just make it stiffer to cock and jumpier to shoot.

I replaced my spring with a JM XLSQ that I had laying around, and it was a near perfect fit. I don't think he sells these anymore, since they were a limited run of an economy version of his Merlin spring. I also have a couple Merlins, and they appear identical as far as dimensions. Both are square-section springs, and are very smooth cocking and firing.

I don't have a chrony, so I don't know how fast mine is shooting, but frankly I don't care, since it's so darn accurate as is. Amazing really, considering the price. Even the trigger is decent.

I think we're all Bozos on this bus.
