the qb79 allows me to shoot a lot more than i could with my firearms--even the .22s.
i've learned how much it matters to hold an air rifle consistently tight to the shoulder and cheek (except for springers). that's the one thing (besides trigger control) that has brought my groups down to bragging size.
another advantage of the air rifle--since my wife is away for the weekend, i have a great 10m range between the living room and the dining room. i did have to raise the chandelier a few inches, though.
i was going to open up the gun to be sure the barrel was tight to the action, so i took the time to change out the (mashed) transfer tube per stephen archer's video. there's not enough room in the living room to set up the chrony, so that'll wait 'til i go outside again. i could get used to an air conditioned range.
i stumbled across a review of archer's qb book on pyramid air, and that convinced me to order it.
