need special scope mounts, often costing more than the scope(which should itself be considered a consumable item, the magnum springers will shake many of them to death)

Such a nice long list of things to check when accuracy goes south; starting at the barrel pivot, thru scope and mount replacement to ensure those are still holding,then seals, spring, bore cleanliness, stock mounting screws...

Having fixed and tuned many dozens of each, I find the gas guns MUCH less frustration to make right than springers( especially those of the break barrel subspecies)
