As one of the original exponents of the QB-78 on the old Airgun Letter Forum I coined the phrase "The $50 gun with the $100 barrel". Even tho the rifle hasn't been $50 for a long time the advent of the Deluxe is a welcome addition. With 4 originals in various states of tune in hand I have little excuse to buy one but I recently recommended the Deluxe to a bro-in-law in place of the W-M Beeman dual caliber that he'd bought his wife for Xmas because it was the one she pointed at as her Xmas wish. The less said about that choice the better.
He bought the D model from Archer as I suggested and both of them couldn't be happier. At less than $100 now it's still the outstanding bargain in airgunning!
And I managed to piggyback a QB-88 sidelever I needed onto his order to save separate shipping.
