I am still chasing the manufacturer of my EMEI Sidelever. Just checking to see if anyone else has one?
I have had the rifle for about 6 years now and still haven't found out much on it. It has EMEI on the buttplate and Mountains stampede into the reciever. It's a large rifle with a gracefully tapered barrel and has an excellent single stage (non adjustable) trigger. The sights are AK-47 type and no scope rail or grooves are on the gun. The graduations on the sights relate to NO known distances but are handy for referance.
The rifle is a .177, fires about 800fps and is very accurate! I credit the good barrel and nice trigger pull to it's accuracy.
The stock is made of a lightweight, soft wood of some sort. I refinished it and it took well but I'd rather have a more dense wood to add some weight.
THe EMEI is a mistery rifle looking all the world like a long barreled but typical Chinese Sidelever. The design is common with many Asian Sidelevers. Very agricurtial looking.
This rifle proved to me that the Chinese DID make some good "old" rifles and I'm glad to own it!
