I'm finally getting around to reassembling my Walther Force 1000 (AR1000 variant) after acquiring a new spring and seal. I got the muzzle brake (cocking handle) off and am going to do a recrown on the barrel.
My issue is how "tight" should the choke be on these barrels (if at all). I have a brass rod that I'm using to push a pellet though the barrel to assess choke. After it enters the lead-in, it pushes easily and fairly uniformly through the barrel until I get to the last 1/2" of barrel. Should the resistance to pushing the pellet increase by 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%??
I'm just curious to read the experience of others who have used the "push a pellet through the barrel" technique to assess choke.
