Really sweet ! I have owned a few air rifles, pistols and M16 and a 243, this takes the cake. The first hour I just touched it, felt it, and examined it. Thank you Mike Melick... you rock! The next hour I spent trying not to screw up remounting the scope. O kay guys I admit never had a scope on anything before. Did not get any paperwork. Not at my computer can not remember which $60 Leaper's 3x9x40 I ordered . can not find how to turn on the scope. It is major storms right now in Alabama, more later.
you have three what look like adjustment knobs in the middle of the scope......the top one is up and down, the one on the right side is side to side and the one on the left is for the illumination, just turn it to get it to go on and off.
And once you have it turned on, Dont remember to turn it off!! I guess thats why they send you an
extra battery!!! Man, i have left the darn things on so many times!!!
Ok I found that the left knob does turn but it does not light up the scope. If I remember right, it should lite up red or green. Did not find an extra battery Sonny mentioned and can not tell what battery to replace it with.
Mike which model did we order? Maybe PA will help. Did the scope come with a warranty card to send in? Do I send one in for the B40 too?
It was busy day with it being Mother's Day. I did go out and shoot a few rounds, I still need to learn how to sight in the scope. The sight picture is still blurry not a full scope view, I am sure my eye relief (distance between the eye and scope) is not right. Also where the scope is setting it is very difficult to put a pellet in the breach.
Despite all this I had a very tight group at ten yards. All the rounds touched each other. Can you say "Sweet".
Ok what are the three holes on top of the back breach? Do not remember anyone talking about them.
Still learning and grinning ear to ear. Everyone says that the B40 looks and feels like a 3 06 and NOT a air rifle. Boy it is so very silent, the target makes more noise the the rifle! That trigger is so light, that is great. Better than anything I have had before.
Mike Melick - Thank you!
Once I get the scope setup that GAMO squirrel is history.
Is there a fool proof - idiot proof method, by the numbers way to setup a scope?
Do they make pellets in .22 cal. that look like the Crosman destroyer pellets? Andy
There was no warranty card or batteries in the box, the scope takes a 1620 battery, I'll get on to PA and get them for you, the fuzzy picture when you look through the scope can be cured by turning the rear adjustment objective ring, remove the rear lens cover or just gently turn it, will bring the picture into focus. The rifle and scope have a lifetime warranty from me, if I'm alive I'll fix, repair or replace.....The lack of an AO may make the scope a bit of a chore to learn to use but it can be done......
I decided that there is no battery, that's why I can not figure out the battery type. Gee the problem is easier than I made it. Rifle is scope in and the squirrel is dead!
I also have one from Mike,
Aren't they great fun! Now if you get you some more of those squirrels, you'll really have some fun picking them all off!!!
Can you believe the quality of that gun for the money!!!
I am under the belief that the B40 is the industry's best keep secret. Mike Melick certainly did a great job on my rifle. I feel like he has picked me, the best pick the lot. Makes me want to order an other rifle from Mike. Just do not know what could top his B40. Any suggestions? Although I do not think would want any thing else other than another springer. How about a B40 with a 10 round magazine. Sonny what pellets are you using with your B40? I ordered Crosman wadcutters. Want some 22's that are shaped like the Crosman 177 destroyers. Just got my scope sighted in, now I am ready to start shooting at 30 and 50 meters, at my GAMO squirrel. Sonny what range and style do you shoot? Curious question Mike says he can not keep B40's in stock, How many of us own a B40? Later Andy.
Andy,
I shoot crosman premier's 10.5 gr. They seemed to be about the best i've shot thru it. Less deviation in fps and accurate as heck! There might be something better out there, but i haven't found it. Course i have not tried jsb's. The more you shoot it the more you will know what it will do at longer distances. I like to shoot field target mostly.
i had ordered a B-40 from Mike last month. But the Fr3aking Indian Customs had kept it with them and sent me no notification. Finally had to ask someone to help me trace it. Mike thanks for all the pains you took to trace it as well. A little over 1 month but lets hope for the best and see if i can speed up the process a bit and have it with me within the next 15 days or so .
