I finnished this build last winter (November/December) and have been asked to post some more info. So here it goes.

The stock started out as a AR2078A stock stripped right down, I made the finger grooves for the trigger hand and the relief for the forestock and sanded to 220 grit finnished both grips with Duracolor truck bed coating.

Trigger & Hammer Assembly:
Polished all surfaces and adjusted for a light crisp trigger pull. I'm using the origional hammer spring.

Custom HPA Valve:
The Valve is a custom made piece from Ultimate QB Tunes, made to run on HPA, with a teflon valve stem.

Main Tube:
It uses the origional main tube with a Mac1 extended tube for more capacity. Also uses the QB bulk fill adapter. The barrel band is a RJMachine band.

Bolt:
I have polished the bolt and opened up the inlet as well as the outlet for maximum flow.

Barrel:
The barrel has been crowned and now shoots ~ .25" groups @ 40-50 yards.

Scope:
The scope (not the one in the pics) is a 3-9x40AO I.R. R-G Mildot by Leapers.

It now shoots low 910fps with 14.3gr pellets with a 1400psi regulator on a 22ci bottle from JDSAirman.

Thanks
Jeff

Reworked stock

July 6 2009, 1:32 AM

Jeff, nice job. Like the finger grooves, although I know they are a pain to do (always wondering "what if I take off a little too much with the rasp or Dremel..."). Question however: what is the rough red outline around the black bedliner material?

Mike, that is paint, my son wanted to help (8yo) and since I just can't say no I let him paint the border around the bed liner. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, just some father son time.

Thanks
Jeff

I expect you now have a stock that will never be sold and will have special meaning to you for the rest of your life! That's the best way to make memories. My youngest is now 16 and every moment is special.

you betcha, I don't think that qb will ever leave the family, my son will probably own it in a few years.

airgunning if fun, but it's a blast getting the family in on it.
