just picked up a B28 in .25 cal and that prompted me to add a complete .22 barrel from Mike M.
Shot it a bit n .25.... could be okay.
mounted the .22 barrel and seemed pretty good
Tore it down tonight, deburr and Vortek PG2 kit installed. Thik this is gonna be a go to gun. Smooth and good power. I think it is the most powerful .22 springer I own.
Will be investigating what can be done to maximize the powerplant and extract as much accuracy as possible from it.
Hey Mike, can a person just purchase a .22 or .25 barrel/breech block complete and change out when ever I like? Is this just a remove pivot screw cocking arm and attach other barrel and breech or is there other machining involved?
Re: Thanks Lon, might have to try the OEM spring again

My Vortek kicked it up more than 50 fps, so I ended up trading the full power Vortek for a slightly reduced power kit. Even now @ 35 yards shooting JSB 8.4 gr. They dent a 2" galvanized fence post. But It is accurate, was able to take a pest bird 30 yards away standing off hand shooting up at about a 30 degree angle.
953FPS @ 7,000 foot above sea level. 100 shots after low power install 940 FPS same elevation CPL 7.9 were at 990 FPS and CPH 10.5 was 800 FPS, pretty sure these are hot numbers considering my elevation. I suspect it has gone up since then though. I will chrony it this weekend, as I have a new spring from Vortek for my B40 coming in and I will want to check that too.
Sorry those last numbers were on low power spring.
Full power spring.
CPL 1000 fps
CPH 840 fps
RWS SPHP 1065 fps
Gammo PBA 1260 fps

with the accuracy. Need to figure out how to remove barrels from th breech blocks on these guns
I thought I discovered something as it was a new idea to me. Flaring the skirts gains an immediate and repeatable payback of 40fps and a smoother shot. The one .22 barrel has a very large leade adn so would really like to reset the barrel.
I think a loose pellet is a huge contributor to harshness near as much as any other single springer detail. 40fps is a pretty good result IMO
After this discovery I now find there were fellas doing this as far back as five years ago.....
funny how that works.
