TF78 Second Impressions after Archer Mods

My USPS box from Archer Air arrived on time yesterday and everything has been installed and tested today.

XP TUNE KIT, Barrel O-rings, Hi-Flo Bolt, Transfer Port (Increases Power)
Hammer Debounce Device (Limits wasted CO2 after the shot is fired)
Muzzle Weight (Aids in accuracy?)

All three took about 30 minutes to install total.

Before the XP tune kit, I was getting 580 FPS in .177 with lighter pellets.
After the XP tune kit , I am getting 660 FPS with lighter pellets
Summary: More Power claim has been met, although I got 80+ FPS not 100+.

Before the HDD kit, I was getting about 40 full power shots
After the HDD kit, I am still getting 40 full power shots
Summary: Less wasted CO2 claim has been met, the same amount of shots
has been seen while at an increased power level. Wasted CO2 has been lessened.

Muzzle Weight - I am hesitant to refer to this as a "brake" since it has
no affect on sound or recoil at all. It does change the harmonics of the barrel due to increased weight.
Summary: I do not know yet if a 50% decrease in group size has been attained yet, more testing is required. I will advise in a future report.

I do know that the muzzle weight looks great.

It has a nice adjustable metal trigger, good scope rail, great wood stock that is cut very well, finished very well, and shoulders very well.

For the approximate money spent on a Crosman 2260SE, you can get a TF78/QB78 Gold Series WITH all the above mods too.

Role: A "guest gun" for plinking at 25-30 yards or less.

The folks at Archer Air were helpful, and got me exactly what I needed to mod a fun, well made, Chinese CO2 adult air rifle.

It has a price point low enough to let in a ton of new shooters to the sport.

Winner!
