One last thing. What Mindy says makes sense, but you also have to
understand that nobody is going to go into a corporation after 5 years of
work experience and make 6 figures unless they go into some type of sales
environment. What all of you guys have is good management experience if you
decide to leave the CG. Also understand that most companies will not hire
managers without having them come up through the industry ranks in some
form. You will have a leg up on others applying for the same positions
because of the prestige of what you've accomplished, but the hard work is
about ready to begin.

For Example, I've been at my job for two years, putting in 80 hours a week,
week in and week out. I just got my first promotion, and will probably
clear $100,000 this year. But this is an anomaly. Everybody who went to
the Academy knows about putting in hard hours. We all did it. The military
lifestyle will help prepare you for this. But don't think that anybody owes
you anything or that you deserve anything. You will have to work for
everything you'll get. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the CG is a
cakewalk). Just make sure that your expectations are in check when you look
for a job.
