e-book marketing... HELP.

Help.

I am a writer and have written a book for a large direct marketing company in Southern California. My book is a “How To” that is unique because I show everyday people how they can make $30,000.00 in one day. Don’t laugh... It's true, I have been doing this work for over a decade and have become an expert on the subject and I have received numerous awards within my industry. I am currently making money as I write this.

My contract with the marketing company allows me to market my book on the Internet. I have no idea how to exploit my work via the e-book route. My plan is to simply use the same strategy that the direct marketing company is using successfully. This company saturates the classified ad section in newspapers with an (800) number. They can generate upwards to 50,000 in-bound calls a day to their call-center. A 1% conversion is all they need to make extraordinary amounts of money.

I want to use the same classified advertising technique and list a .com instead of a (800) number, thus avoiding all the overhead costs involved with staffing and equipping a call-center… and of course stay within the boundaries of my contract. My bulk overhead will be the printing and fulfillment of hard-copies of my book… and of course advertising.

I am very interested about offering my book in PDF format. I just don’t know how lucrative this side of the business is. Can anyone tell me some success stories on income potential for selling a “How To” make money e-book. Do I need to get myself caught up in a massive web of partnerships, up-sells, freebies, list rentals, banners, etc… It all sounds like a lot of work and very confusing… BUT hard work does not scare me if the income potential is worth it.

Any experience/advice would be greatly appreciated. I am in the process of having my website built to sell hard copies and I am keeping my options open in regards to e-book marketing.

Thank you very much.

Best,
Ramey
