just because something is "old", doesn't mean that it is "out-of-date"
A very, very excellent point - and one that many of the people "getting started" could benefit from.
I have been "in* marketing for over two decades. The longer I stick around, the more stubbornly I believe that everything boils down to people.
Technology changes... and with changes in technology come changes in communication. 10 years ago, I had to wait 2-3 weeks for a letter to get to Australia. Today I can send it by email and have it arrive in seconds.
But people have not changed so much. We still laugh at the same things, and cry at the same things. We still love to buy things that make our hearts beat a little faster... and we still hate a cheesy sales pitch or pushy sales people.
When it comes to people, there is much that a new business owner can learn in a public library.
The irony is that many of the marketing books and materials being sold on the Internet today were written by those who have studied marketing by the "old" masters. You know... the ones you can read about in the library. ; )
