John Caples is certainly very good. So is the granddaddy of them all-Claude Hopkins. He's excellent. His book was written in the year 1920 or thereabouts and it's the most amazing book you'll read. It's called Scientific Advertising.
You'll get it in the library, but you'll also get it on the web for free. You could pick it up off my site at http://www.psychotactics.com/scientific.pdf
. If you click on the link, the book will open in your browser. If you right click and "Save Target As" you'll be able to download it to your desktop.
Spend the weekend reading it. And print out the 40 pages. They're really good. Keep a marker handy and an action list of what you're going to do as a result of reading the book.
