This couldn't be more wrong. HTML is universal and is accessible to users of mainframes, Mac, Windows, ALL Unix type platforms as well as many handheld devices, e.g. mobile phones, PIDs (Palm Pilot) and audio devices (without paying someone to record the book).<<
No - *you're* wrong. I didn't HTML could only be read by Windows people. I said .EXE ebooks (files) can only be read by Windows people. And, that, my friend, is absolutely true.

PDF requires a specific reader or plug-in, and while it is available to Windows, Mac and Unix-like operating systems; I not so sure it is available for all operating systems.<<
Go to Adobe's page and look at all the OS's it works for...
The rest of your reply is simply your opinion. My opinion is different.
I still say that if you use html your designs are limited, you're limited by having to use a small subset of fonts because your ebook will only be able to show the fonts on the reader's computer (stray from that, and the html engine will substitute fonts for you!), and you are subject to all the limitations of html - including never knowing what your ebook will look on on every machine.
Besides, it looks just like a webpage - who wants that??? Especially if you're paying for the ebook...
Sorry, I'm no fan of html ebooks. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one...
