I understand your logic with this one. Its hard to retain audio information when you are driving (since you are preoccupied with other things, cant take notes, etc), unless you listen to the content over and over again (which I have done). Perhaps that is supposed to be the logic behind it.
I personally like programs that offer both. I can listen in the car.... and then have something on paper or on my computer I can refer back to when I want to take notes, etc........
I think for some people, the thought of reading is scary.... since it sounds like it is; oh no! Work. People are becoming increasingly lazy, in my opinion. I think its a combination of that, and the fact that people feel as though there arent enough hours in the day. So, if someone can "multi-task" by listening to an ebook and driving, it kills two birds with one stone, and doenst force that person to try and rearrange his/her schedule to fit reading into it. I mean, come on now, American Idol IS in a new season. =)
