This thread is apparently a moot point. Much like *Pro-* this, or, *Anti-* that. Even political parties share the same taste for drawing "Lines in the sand."
As for the quality of a web site - it really doesn't matter to me. I place very little to no credence to a site that is hosted on a free server.
Right or wrong... It doesn't matter. What matters is the fact that the general population feels exactly the same way as well. If one cannot afford to pay $25.00 per month for a simple site, or even the $75 to register the site, why would *I* give them MY trust????
In my field of large commercial insurance sales... I travel to the auto dealerships. All over two States. First thing they ask is... "Where are you located out of???".
Actually... I work out of my vehicle and laptop!!! But I tell them I have an office in Spearfish. (It's my home)
The point is they are more concerned with my *permanence*, *credibility*, and *professionalism*. It has NOTHING to do with my abilities, products, or service. Not in the beginning.
Once they're my client... then it isn't an objection.
So... Therefor the free, fly-by-night, free site has little to no credibility. You're losing a tremendous amount of prospects, leads, and sales. Period.
Howl all you want to about *content*... It's a farce.
"Perception IS reality" to the vast majority... And it is the *majority* that you should cater to.
