It is possible that IBM have got their act together over this program, but unless they've improved it by 100% recently, your work is likely to end up like my subject sentence above.
My son bought the ViaVoice package about 8 months ago for his wife to use, as she has an OOS problem. (Turns out she has been promoted since to a top level management position, and no longer needs to type her material. Smart move
But they both tried and gave up on ViaVoice because of the poor recognition problems.
Now, these problems are not peculiar to this product. Even Dragon NaturallySpeaking - the program I use - has its bad hair days. But Dragon is still being seen as the prominent software solution for speech.
My suggestion - send your children out to work, call in a few loans, sell the yacht - and buy Dragon for the little extra it cost. You won't regret it, I'm certain.
