Another Question Regarding Security

Hi All, I've been selling 'hard' goods on the net for the last couple of years. After coming across MYKS and the fantastic 'E-Book Secrets' I've decided to jump into the E-Book market. I can't figure out...

When a customer decides to order they are directed from the 'E-book Site' to their card processing site ie IBILL.COM or CLICKBANK.COM where they enter their credit card details, if the card is accepted a secure 'thankyou' page is displayed which I presume will direct the customer to the location of the PDF file back on the 'E-Book Site'.

I guess this is quite secure but lacks the HTACCESS system of user name and password,

The perfect idea which seems to be used is

1. Customer Orders
2. Customer sent user name and password along with link to protected site va email after card accepted.
3. Password list automatically updated.
4. Customer enters site and password expires.

Does anyone know how this system is setup using companys like CLICKBANK.COM any info would be appreciated.
