      Your gut instincts are probably correct.

      Many providers of email addresses acquire them by using software that harvests addresses from millions of Internet sites and then they sell them to as many people as they can. You will be contributing to the nuisance of spam email if you use them and risk damaging your business reputation.

      There are legitimate publicity firms that provide email addresses that are opt-in and lawfully obtained. If you deal with them, they take the risk off your shoulders and you'll have a chance of survival and income generation, however, they are a lot more expensive than the illegals.

      An alternative might be to find someone with a huge opt-in list and either place an advert in one of their messages or set up an arrangement whereby they earn a commission from every sale generated from their email message.

      Think of using blog technology too as it's becoming increasingly common.
