I am a budding e-book author trying to find MS Word templates for building e-books. My intention is to add a few graphics and spruce up the text to make it attractive. The final product will be published in Adobe. Microsoft is not much help. I really want something that is useful and would include, at a minimum: Title page; Index, Page numbers, Chapter headings, insert graphics, consistent headings and text patterns. I am willing to spend a few bucks, so no need to be limited to free-bees.

No need for word templates. Using a pdf compiler and the html tags h1, h2, h3 etc. will build your headings, chapters, table of contents, automatically,

i use htmldoc a free shareware pdf compiler - download it from the site below. it's free but they charge for tech support if you need it. use the free page composer that comes with the new netscape 6.0 browser. it makes making webpages and html a cakewalk. play with these two tools like i did and you'll be an expert in no time.

There is an excellent template in the Microsoft Templates Gallery site. It is mainly set up for manuals and is an administrative style sheet guide also but can be very easily modified for ebooks. It has a title page, contents page, chapters set up with headers, and a index. I found the information on style was also helpful in outlining a document.
