Adobe Printing Problems...

December 22 2004 at 7:11 AM
Mike Pedersen

I am spending more time on customer support with my ebook than anything else.

I'm getting a TON of people with download problems and a lot with printing problems.

The document was converted with 4.0 software.

What are my options with other formats or options?

Thanks.

Mike, Use Adobe Acrobat PDF.
You won't have any problem.

Sorry, Sean - you *will* have those problems with Acrobat, too...

There is a printing bug in Acrobat 6 that prevents many characters from printing properly. I've been getting some emails on this very problem and I've always used the full version of Acrobat.

The file looks fine, but when you go to print, it converts (for example)...

one word B organization Bwhich is not possible

Notice the 2 "B"'s around the word "organization" - it should be in bold type, but it didn't get converted properly... The file shows everything perfectly. It just doesn't get printed the way it should.

Spending money on Acrobat will not fix this... I'm going now to check the Acrobat site and see if they've released a fix for it yet...

Acrobat 4 didn't have this problem - if they haven't fixed it in 6, I'm going back to version 4...
