I've been thinking about marketing my manuscript typing services to the prison community. Seems the incarcerated are always writing-keeping journals, writing books, etc. and I think there's a market on the "inside" for professional manuscript tying services. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Get Your Manuscripts Professionally Typed!
So, you've got a captive market, but will they pay? And who are you targeting...those with low literacy rates, or the literate who have plenty of time and probably access to the prison computers?
I don't know much about this side of life - though my wife was a prison counsellor through her church at one time - but it seems with the small income most prisons provide, you have a limited options for turning a profit. Unless, of course, you plan to donate your services.
Interesting concept though...don't let me put you off. Many people in prison need the outside support, direction and encouragement which this project may give them.
I've received a lot of feedback from this topic, and have decided not to pursue this market afterall.
A writer/mentor friend of mine e-mailed me today and shed more light on this subject. It wouldn't be a worthwhile effort afterall, but it was a nice idea that I'm glad I asked for feedback on before jumping right into it.
