Creating a site with a discussion board

November 29 1999 at 11:56 PM

I am creating a new web site and would like to add a discussion board, any suggestions on what software to use for the board. And I also notice that on this board that Ken does't have a place for links to web sites. Any opinions about that?

Mike,

Here is a couple that I personally use. The first one is WebBBS. Here is their url:
http://awsd.com/scripts/webbbs/

Another one (maybe the top of the line) is the Ultimate BBS and they are at:
http://www.ultimatebb.com/

Hope this helps,
Mark Pratt

Gotta say I am hooked on WebBBS. If cookie enabled it can do a ton of things. Like this board,it also notifies a poster when someone responds to his post. This is very effective in bringing people back to your board.

As far as no place for a link is concerned. You can still add your signature block at the end of your post. I guess that is a way to lose less visitors but if your site is interesting enough, they will always come back.
