Newbie needs help. Please help!

September 13 2000 at 9:06 AM

I just bought "Ebook Secrets" about a week ago and I am very excited about publishing my own ebook, but I have one major problem. I've been racking my brain trying to think of things to write about, but I can't come up with anything! Should I just find a niche market, research it, write a "how-to" ebook, and then make it highly personalized? The only usable knowledge that I really have to offer is how to get in shape and eat right. I would use that ,but it's been played to death. I desperately need a way to find subjects to write "how-to ebooks" on. Please help!

The BIG Question...

September 13 2000, 9:38 AM

Yes Jared, what to write about...

It's a tough one. As a rule, I try to keep my eyes open for a particular problem a group of people are having (hence, The 5-Minute PDF Creator...see link below). Solve the problem, present it to the group sharing the problem, and you've got a successful info product.

You might benefit from Ken Evoy's Free InfoProduct Master's Course. I haven't looked over it in a while, but it does help you focus on what you know, what you like, and what interests you.

Find the perfect combination of the three, and your product will exude your enthusiasm. Send a blank e-mail to [email protected] to receive the course in your email.

Making Money With Popular Subjects

September 13 2000, 10:00 AM

It's not hard to cash in on a subject that's been - as they say, "done to death."

Research the products that already exist on the subject. Take info products for instance. You'll hear more complaints about many products than you will praise.

For instance... infoproduct courses are often accused of being, too long and too general. Other's complain that they don't have the time to follow "complicated instructions," etc.

You can take what already exists and make it better. That's what I've done offline with my booklets CAR BUYING SECRETS and HOW TO ERASE YOUR POOR CREDIT RATING.

Notice that I didn't say, "Take what exists and RE-WORD it." You'll never succeed over the long haul with that method. People are too smart to fall for recycled fluff these days [most of them, anyway].

You can take what exists and IMPROVE it. That can be accomplished within a reasonable amount of time. It shouldn't be too hard to do, either. A lot of the stuff, in plain English... stinks.

Best Wishes,

Jimmy Krug
