Internet Business Software choices etc.

February 26 2001 at 3:24 PM

Hi,

Ken suggested that I post this in this Forum. Perhaps the answers can benefit others too.

#1. Has anyone taken Corey Rudl's Insider Secrets course priced at $197.00 ? I already ordered his course, but, haven't received it yet. I believe that his course touches on many areas and not just information publishing, however, selling information is all that I am interested in. Ken Silver's course sells for $39.00 and is some 400 pages - any comments please ?

#2. Also, do you know of any substitutes for Corey's products (www.marketingtips.com, www.ebookpro.com) that are just as good ? For example :

1. e-Book Pro Software - $197.00.

2. Mailloop Business software (does admin work) - $379.00.

3. AssocTrac software (to run Affiliate programs) - $877.00 I believe.

4. Advanced training videos - $97.00

5. Insiders Marketing Course - $197.00 (I already ordered).

I am listing these things, because if I buy them it is going to cost me a great deal of money. He seems to indicate that these are the best products out there and if you want to avoid problems, it is advisable to buy them.

How can I know the truth about this ? He makes about 5.2 million dollars (net) a year, so, it is hard to argue with him.

Any wisdom you can impart would be appreciated. Thank you.

one word: OVERPRICED!

February 27 2001, 12:51 AM

well, honestly, as i posted before, i think that all of his products are way overpriced!

1. mailloop, i have it, haven't used it yet, but there are other substitutes for it, like getresponse.com....

2. ebookpro, i think again it is overpriced, check out www.ebookedit.com i have heard many times that it is the best.

3. associtrak, i think it is good, but again WAY overpriced, try www.groundbreak.com or www.cgiscriptcenter.com i have heard many times that they are good.

think about it, if his stuff is so good, how come every other marketer isn't using it? hmm.....

i have his london videos, and i must say that i really wanted to return them.... they are so crappy (that wasn't the word i wanted to use) i pay $97 bucks to hear some guy promote his products! what a waste!

spend some time, get away from cory's mind control he has on you, and investigate other options.... who knows, you might find something better, and cheaper!

good luck,

Dave

Insiders Marketing Course - OVERPRICED ? Right

February 27 2001, 11:41 AM

I ordered it, read it and returned it to the vendor, WHY ? because when I heard about Ken Evoy Make your site sell's ebook I ordered it and much to my astonishement I found almost the same content inside MYSS but more easy to apply.

You get the same message with MYSS but for only 20$.

I couln't agree more....

February 27 2001, 3:00 PM

i think that some of us have the same views... no i don't work with ken silver... but i have a copy of his book, and it is WELL worth it... the mkss, is one of the best ebooks you can buy, and the are VERY resonable, about $20 bucks!!!

can't beat that!!!

if it seems that i know a bit, i am a web designer, and an avid reader...i soak up anything that i am interested in, like this... so i have spent the last 6 months day and night doing research, "modeling" ( read my previous posts) and finding out how to take what other people have done, and duplicate it, in a lesser amount of time.

i believe that you should spend some time ,and formulate your own opinion, instead of being sold very quickly on any one thing... if the products are good now, than after you spend some time and research things, if the are still the best, then go ahead, get them...

Here is a list of Ken Evoy's sites

February 28 2001, 2:01 AM

Make Your Site SELL! http://myss.sitesell.com/
Make Your Knowledge SELL! http://myks.sitesell.com/
Make Your Price Sell! http://myps.sitesell.com/
Make Your Words Sell! http://myws.sitesell.com/
Site Build It! http://buildit.sitesell.com/

I have all of Ken's books and for the money I this can't be beat. Last year I was going to buy Cory's marketing material, but found after reading the reviews then that I should save my money. That is how I found out about Ken Evoy's book "make your site sell" This book is a must if you want to design and build a web site, If you want to know more about writing a e book than " Ken Silver's e-book secrets is a must".

There are several other books on e-book design that I have written by the people who Frequent these boards, there books have helped me.

I would suggest if you are going to write ebooks that you should get Adobe Acrobat and learn how to convert to a PD format. I am not a big fan of e-book compilers as they are not cross platform meaning they can only be read by those who have IE and maybe Netscape.

You'll note that many good marketers use this format. For what Cory charges for his compiler you could get Adobe Acrobat. IMHO much better. True Acrobat is pricey around $250 but well worth it.

Hope this helps.

One other thing, keep your wallet zipped up until you thoroughly explore what it is you want to do.

This is the type of forum I'm looking for

February 28 2001, 3:14 AM

I do like to visit forums that specialize in one subject.
A new forum at www.senac.com/forums/8483/
. . . covers . . . SMC . . . World of Products . . . catalog and

This is the type of forum I'm looking for. A forum like
that for "Site Build It" and Ken Evoy's affiliate programs.

If you know of a forum like this I would like their url's.

Thanks!

One more question

February 28 2001, 10:59 AM

Thank you very much Tom for your advice.

I just found out last night that Corey Rudl was one of Mike Enlow's students (www.enlowcircle.com/go/kd/). He also offers a unique program/service which costs $597.00, but, he sure says that his advice and others in his group will almost guarantee success. Have you heard of Mike Enlow ?

Consider This

February 28 2001, 1:04 PM

Hi Ken,

I've just finished reading this string from your original post.

You seem to be doing your research before spending your money and I applaud you for that. Here are a couple of thoughts you may want to consider.

1. You will find avid supporters, and avid detractors, of Mike Enlow, Cory Rudl, and Ken Evoy (my personal favorite), and any other Internet marketer if you look hard enough.

2. There's a big difference between less the $20 for Ken's MYSS and $597 for Mike's product. If you're just getting started you might purchase MYSS and see just how far that takes you. There is a lot of great content in it. You can always add Mike's program to your arsenal at a later date. (Believe me - most of us Junkies own more than just two programs.)

3. I've read several posts on the forums recently by people who's perception of value seems to be based on price. Nothing could be further from the truth. A lot of the best site building and marketing information you will find on the Net is free.

My suggestion would be this. Buy MYSS and devour it. Then pick a small section you would like to learn more about and post a question on these forums like you have done here. There are some extremely intelligent and knowledgeable people who frequent these forums on a regular basis. On this forum, both Ken and Ricky have a wealth of knowledge they share freely if asked. The same holds true for Tony Blake, Taylor Trump, Jim Daniels, Harmony Major, and Willie Crawford. And I'm sure there are a lot more out there you could come up with.

In a short time you'll get a lot more than $597 worth of solid advice, and it will have been targeted exactly to your needs.

4. Finally, I can assure you that no amount of free advice and no $597 course will do you one bit of good unless you take to heart what the great marketer Lee Trevino (or was he a golf pro?) once said.

Lee was on the driving range one day and a young boy was watching him. Finally the young fellow summoned up the courage and asked, "Mr. Trevino, how did you become such a great golfer?" To which Lee responded, "I hit 500 golf balls a day." After a little thought the young fellow said, "I could do that!" Lee looked at him for a moment and then said. "Yes you could. But you won't."

And that is why, even though both Ken and Mike both sell a lot of their excellent products, very few people actually succeed on the Net.

To Your Success,

Gary Hendrickson

Yes I heard of Mike Enlow

March 2 2001, 9:59 AM

Yes I heard of Mike Enlow. Gary has an excellent post and he has said it better than I could. Just like you I am quite new to this, but I do try to find more ways to help me in regards to marketing that fit in with my budget. If I could, I would buy all of the courses and books on this subject.

Lacking the funds to do so, I find that lurking on Discussion boards like this has given me tons of information to help me get started, and when I get stumped...I ask a question or two and the response I get that those have graciously provided helps me more than the expensive courses. See one of my posts further down regarding Questions I have asked.

I like Ken Evoy's work as he over delivers what he sells. I have brought one or two courses that were quite expensive, but returned them when I noticed they were a rehash of what I have found on theses boards. Some one once said I believe "There is nothing new under the sun" Or something like that.

I found one magic word if you would call it that...
"ACTION" all the courses and books in the world will not help one iota if you don't act on it. I found this to be true. Take Ken Evoy's MYSS if you do what he has written in his e-book regarding building and marketing your Web site, you can not fail. Sure, you may get some bad results, but that is what testing is all about. Same goes for Ken Silver's "E-book secrets" if you follow what he teaches making an e-book, you cannot fail.

These men have put their heart and soul into their products...That should give you an idea! If you ever noticed there sales message (sales letter, Web site)you'll find less hype and more of what they can do for you. This is not a plug in for them, but a heart felt true public testimonial from a consumer...ME!

I spent two years of research on online marketing before I decided to go ahead with trying on my own. Now I am ready to take the plunge, it will take me another two months before I have everything set up.

My humble advice is for you to take caution. Ask questions like your doing, frequent the discussion boards pertaining to on line marketing. Listen to the the ones that have succeeded people like Ken Silver, Ricky Higgs,Jim Daniel and others like them. subscribe to their newsletters. You'll find a wealth of information and can at times be overwhelmed, but take it step by step.

Online Marketing is not an over night get rich thing that some would have you believe. It takes work, but it is Fun... a real fun challenge.

Well I think I have rambled long enough

Good Luck and Best Wishes for your Success
