Not sure about what weight class they started at in the NFA match, but they started at 130 in the Montville match and it was a swap 6 for 6. That is not a problem in strategy of the match. The problem comes when a team has the match already won and the coach bumbs away from the good match. So earlb007 if you are a Montville wrestler or fan don't throw stones in a glass house.

And as for loomis, from talking to him for a good amount of time over the day he was looking forward to wrestling go, so don't say that he's just bumping to miss a tough match.

I am glad to hear that people enjoyed the duals. There were many great matches on the day and some exciting finishes. Especially the Killingly vs Montville tie at 34 that went to the 9th criteria to decide the winner. I also hear people calling out Eddie Loomis for ducking Go. That was a strategic match up where the coached bumped 2 guys up to get the most from his lineup. Before you call out someone for ducking look at the match and see how the bump effects the outcome. If it is done to foster a team win than how can it be called ducking? I wish people would think before they sling a good wrestlers name around because there is a lot more that goes into a match than just the one on one match ups.

Bumping away, or "ducking," is a decision made by a coach. There are three primary reasons for bumping; strategic, injury defense or seeding defense. I believe it is usually done by the coach to improve a team's chances to attain a victory in a dual match. Other times a wrestler may not be at 100% due to physical illness or injury and it is the coaches responsibility to protect the health and well being of his wrestler. The third reason is to improve a wrestler's chance for seeding in a tournament later in the season by not risking a loss. The third reason is rare. Many coaches would never even consider bumping a kid for the third reason. Bumping is almost never a decision made by a wrestler. I think it is inappropriate to pass judgement on a wrestler for bumping up. This is just my opinion.
