DUAL MEET FORMAT ON SATURDAY AND INDIVIDUAL FORMAT ON SUNDAY
AGENDA FOR SATURDAY
Memorial Day weekend is traditionally a tough travel weekend. We want to provide wrestling for the long weekend with convenient start and finish times which would allow teams and wrestlers ample travel times. On Saturday we will have a team dual meet tournament with a round robin format then a cross over championship finish. We plan on having 20 teams with 4 pools of 5. All teams are guaranteed 4 bouts each. The winners of each pool will advance into Sunday’s semi finals and finals. Teams will get at least 4 bouts with the winners from each pool receiving 2 additional bouts. There will be one weigh in for both tournaments, which means any wrestler from the team tournament who is interested in wrestling in Sunday’s individual tournament, may register and will be all set after their teams have weighed in. Wrestlers, who are not wrestling on Saturday, will need to register and weigh in on Saturday.
For grades 8-11, no graduating seniors
Awards: A Championship and a Runners-Up Plaque, A Consolation Championship and Runners up plaque
Individual Gold Medals for wrestlers who go undefeated
Weigh Ins: 9:30AM (Wrestlers weighing in for the team competition are all set for Sundays Tournament)

Welcome to the 3rd Annual WARRIOR WRESTLING Summer Duals
MAY 31, 2008
DELAWARE VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
MILFORD, PA
Dear Coaches:
In an effort to bring teams eager to compete against the best teams on the East Coast, Delaware Valley presents the third year of what we hope to be the ultimate venue for competitive summer wrestling, the Warrior Wrestling National Open Team Dual Championship. This year, we will run a one-day tournament with a maximum of 16 teams participating; this will allow us to run a competitive and efficient tournament.
The format of the tournament will be dictated by the number of teams participating. As teams enter, I will frequently e-mail coaches to alert them of the changes in format and additional matches. We do know that the first rounds will pair teams from different regions that do not see each other during the winter sport season. Once the teams compete in the first rounds, they will then be seeded out according to talent and record. Each team will receive numerous bouts and leave this tournament satisfied with the mat time and competition level.
Our location lends itself to attracting top caliber teams. We are within 1 hour 15 minutes from tradition-rich Lehigh Valley (PA) and border both New York and New Jersey; this we hope will attract a wide variety of talent. For families, we are within 45 minutes of beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack, Woodbury Commons Shopping Outlets (NY), and Tannersville Shopping Outlets, to just name of few. Accommodations will be sent to participating teams.
Please fill out the attached rosters to the best of your knowledge. One roster will be for the program, while the other is the weigh-in sheet. Keep in mind that this is an open tournament, so students entering 9th grade will be able to wrestle. Please fill your roster even if you have to combine with another team or bring in other individual wrestlers. We just ask that your team rating reflects every wrestler in your line-up. Send both forms and a check (made out to “Warrior Wrestling”) for $325.00 to:
Chris Ross
Tournament Director

Coaches – In order to seed the top four teams, I’ve come up with a 10 point system. Next to your starter’s name, place a number, 1 through 10, representing the wrestler’s skill level. 1 is a first year wrestler with no freestyle experience while a 10 represents a wrestler capable of placing at national freestyle events. Enter 0 for a forfeited weight class. Use your discretion. Teams with the highest total will be seeded in opposite pools. The remaining teams will be randomly grouped into pools. Any ties can be worked out at the coaches meeting.
