Nutmeg Folk Style Championship Wrestling Series
USAWCT has developed a Folk Style Championship tournament Series, which invites all USA wrestlers to participate in. Out of state wrestlers are welcome, however, they must pay tournament entry fee or USA card purchases by CASH and encouraged to come and compete in Folk style wrestling.

USAWCT wants to create more opportunities for our youth and High School and Open age groups to compete and would like to raise the level of the competition in our region. It is our goal to develop some of the toughest tournaments and identify by age division the most outstanding wrestler to compete in the series. Nutmeg Fall Championship Wrestling series are a group of tournaments in which wrestlers will wrestle folk style. Each wrestler will compete for prizes and a beautiful Pittsburgh Trophy Guillotine style for each age divisions as follows:

Elementary Division: Born 1999, 2000, 2001 & 2002

Middle School Division: Born 1995, 1996, 1997 & 1998

Elementary and Middle School weight classes shall be determined by the Madison System (grouping wrestlers in brackets of eight, by similar weight).

High School Division: Born 1994, 1993, 1992, 1991 and 1990 if registered in a Public High School in the Fall of 2008

Open Division: Born 1990 or prior, unless you are born in 1990 and are registered in a Public High School in the Fall of 2008 (Post Graduate Students are welcome in the Open Division)

Elementary Division: Madison grouped weights (8 man brackets, with no more than 10% body weight difference)
Middle School Division: Madison grouped weights (8man brackets, with no more than 10% body weight difference)
High School Division: 84, 91, 98, 105, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215, 285
Open Weights Division: 125,133,141,149,154,165,174,184,197,230 & 285 Tournament Director reserves the right to use Madison Weights if necessary.

Birth Certificate must be available upon challenge by tournament Director or other athlete
Challenging athlete must also present birth Certificate in order to challenge another’s weight
Failure to produce Birth Certificate will result in forfeiture of awards.

Wrestlers must wrestle in their own age group and will only be able to move up one weight class, exhibition matches will be allowed only if time is available.
Nutmeg Series points will be earned as follows for each Tournament:
Brackets of eight or more: Brackets of five to seven Brackets of Four or less
Place Points Place Points Place Points
1st 8 1st 7 1st 5
2nd 5 2nd 4 2nd 3
3rd 3 3rd 2 3rd 1, unless bracket of 3, then 0
4th 1 4th 1 4th 0
3 bonus points will be awarded to each wrestler for every pin,1 bonus point will be awarded for each technical fall, which is earned when 12 superiority in the score exists for all age groups. For Championship bracket, wrestle backs get only 1 bonus point for pins, all round robin matches are considered Championship bracket.

SPORTMANSHIPS RULE: Matches in which one club/team member forfeits to another member from the same club/team, may not result in any bonus points, if the tournament director believes that the forfeit was not as a result of injury and is an attempt to manipulate the tournament results. In addition, if it is the belief of the tournament director or the head official that wrestler’s from the same club/team do not wrestle in a competitive manner, the results of that match will be excluded from the tournament results and treated as a voided match.

WRESTLE 4 RELIEF IV 10/11/08

No score for this post
August 20 2008, 5:23 PM

The Council Rock South Wrestling Booster Club is again joining forces with Team Apache Wrestling Club, PAWF (Pennsylvania Amateur Wrestling Federation) and the Council Rock community to proudly present WRESTLE 4 RELIEF IV on Saturday, October 11th. This charity fundraiser will take place at Council Rock South High School in Holland, PA. We are happy to announce that the charity for 2008 will be the D’Angelo Foundation. The Foundation strives to serve the families in our local community during their time of need. We hope to create a forum for expanding the difference we can make in each other's lives. The D'Angelo Foundation was created in response to a family in need of financial help. The idea for the foundation was to set up a place for online credit card donations, and since has grown into other ways of helping people such as with medical benefits. Our mission is to create an easier way for people in need to connect with people who are in a position to help. Currently, the foundation is raising money for three families and our target will be the Czapor Family. The Czapor family resides in the Richboro area in Bucks County. John and Stephani have three awesome boys. Their oldest, Chad, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Chad is currently finishing his senior year at Council Rock South High School. He is an awesome kid and an inspiration to us all. We all know Chad for rooting his brothers on at a wrestling tournament or helping his dad coach soccer teams. Stephani and John are searching endlessly to find a doctor to operate on Chad. It is a delicate operation. They found a surgeon in New York who specializes in this type of brain tumor, but unfortunately, their insurance will not pay for the surgery. Once again, the D'Angelo Foundation is calling on this extraordinary community to reach out and help the Czapor famiy. Time and time again people have taken a stand for these families and they have shown what it means to be giving, compassionate, and united. Let us do the same for Chad and the Czapor family. All proceeds from W4R IV will go directly to this foundation. We will be raffling off items in an effort to raise money for this great cause. Concessions will also be available. Find out more about the foundation at:http://www.thedangelofoundation.org/Our inaugural “Wrestle 4 Relief” event in October of 2005 was a huge success and raised $5600 for the Red Cross in support of the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. We followed that up in 2006 with “Wrestle 4 Relief II” and donated over $4500 to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to help fight childhood cancer. Last year $3600 was raised for Autism Awareness and the NeighborHeart Program, bringing our grand total to $13,700 in just 3 short years. YOU are making a difference. “I know that this may sound like a cliché, but this wrestling community is indeed a family! This community transcends sports and competition. The true goodness of people and all that is right with the sport of wrestling and these kids has been on display during our Wrestle for Relief events as hundreds of wrestlers, coaches, parents and fans competed and donated their time and effort, all in the name of charity,” said Brad Silimperi, Club Director of Team Apache and Head Wrestling Coach at Council Rock South High School. “I can tell you that the wrestling community is one that I am proud to be a part of.” Coach Silimperi continues “We are extremely excited about WRESTLE 4 RELIEF IV and having a great charity like the D’Angelo Foundation being a part of the event.”
This tournament is PAWF folkstyle event. Wrestlers from outside of PA are welcome. For division & weight class information, go towww.usapawf.com.
